What do you work as? That's going to make a difference to the answers!

Shower as soon as you wake up, blast of cold water at the end to wake you up.

Lots of coffee/red bull.

PlayingForKittens · 03/09/2018 15:43

Caffeine

megletthesecond · 03/09/2018 15:45

Book a taxi to work now. You won't be in a good state to drive.
Otherwise you can wing it (brain surgeons excepted).

Can you book tomorrow as annual leave, or a half day? Just admit you cocked up.

LadyLaSnack · 03/09/2018 15:45

One night of 3hours sleep is totally do-able OP. You can do it!

Caffeine + don’t have a big carb-y lunch.

clairethewitch70 · 03/09/2018 15:46

Proplus caffeine tablets. What do you work as?

justaweeone · 03/09/2018 15:46

MUM
I work in a school and it's inset so lots of meetings.
At least it's not a job where anyone is at risk if a member of staff is tired.
Just hope I don't nod of at the back, I'm sure I'll be fine( have had two young children before).
I think it's just the thought!

Lots of coffee.

clairethewitch70 · 03/09/2018 15:47

Oh and make sure you sleep on the plane

RooMama · 03/09/2018 15:49

I have a desk job and routinely arrived back in the country from a long haul holiday at 6am, showered and headed straight to work. Its only one day, but it saves a wasted day of annual leave, which is more important to me.

Now if you are a surgeon on the other hand, then you might have a problem.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 03/09/2018 15:51

Well, in lieu of further details, if it’s a long haul, get as much sleep as possible on the flight, get home, sleep for a couple of hours get up and forget it’s not just a normal day where you’re a bit more tired than normal. Work. Go home. Sleep at normal time. Best way to deal with ‘jet lag’ and sleep deprivation due to traveling, is to pretend it isn’t happening in my, long and varied and boring work traveling experience, tbh. However, this does depend very much in the job you have to do.........

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 03/09/2018 15:52

Oh, cross post, inset day? You’ll do it!

123bananas · 03/09/2018 15:59

You will be fine I regularly get home from work at 2.30am and get up at 6.30am in the morning sort the kids out and then go to college and sit in lectures. Inset days are not like hectic teaching days. Just get an early night that night.

justaweeone · 03/09/2018 21:30

Thanks for the encouragement, I'll need to just put my big girl pants on!
Especially as we now have a 67 min delayShock

Big girl pants. And probably a lot of snacks.

justaweeone · 04/09/2018 19:05

I made it through the day!!
Didn't really sleep on the flight, slept in car on way home (one and half hour drive)and got into bed at 5.15am then alarm at 6.50am.
I did feel shocking when I woke up but better after cup of tea and shower.
Early night tonight!
Thanks everyone for your advice
