What would you want a letter to say that was posted through your door to ask if you'd sell your house to us?!

Hi
The question pretty much speaks for itself
My dh and I are keen to move but live in a house that's far too small
We live in a lovely town but property here is too slow paced for my liking so we are now considering posting letters through about 20ish houses doors to ask if they would consider selling.....

Is this crazy?! What should it say without sounding desperado?!

Yes, I would. But I would want a great price for it too. Not entirely stupid (its likely going to have to get through a surveyor anyway and there will be an agents fee saving with a private sale) but a good price to give me a prod.

We definitely would move if we got a letter like that. I just currently cannot be bothered with the hassle of marketing and showing people around etc We have a bit of a hidden gem really which would make it perfect but, equally, unlikely to get a letter as its is so well hidden!

Good luck.

I think I would say include....

"our maximum budget is....£xxxx" with the price you are prepared to pay so you don't get someone only involving you as they are wanting an absolutely stupid figure.

Excellent, do some back and let us know how they go.

Did you give them any idea of budget at all? Or did you decide against that idea?

I said we were cash buyers and chain free.
One of the houses owners texted me to tell me what hers was valued at last year and asked whether that was within our budget......I replied that it was etc so that was helpful x

Brilliant news. We popped a note through the door of a house - and it's been our home for the last 22 years!
