Sharpie on white hair?

GoodyGoodyGumdrops · 03/09/2018 00:56

What would happen if I ran a lurid Sharpie down my white hairs?

Unbleached, untreated hair. Mostly dark brown, with bits of salt-n-pepper.

Would it 'take'? Would it damage the hair?

If you get it on your scalp it won’t come out. Because permanent marker. And it will probably damage your hair. Instead get a root touch up kit (like the l’oreal spray), an actual box of hair dye or some hair chalk, depending on what exactly you’re trying to achieve with the Sharpie. I’ve seen videos on YouTube of people doing it though so you’re not the first one to consider it!

Oooooh try it! I've got bleached blonde hair. I wish I'd thought of that at the beginning of the holidays! Going back to school now so better not! Roll on half term....

it washes out of bleach blond hair after 5/6 washes, I don't know if white would be the same.

no noticeable damage though.

I used marker pens on bleached hair and it snapped off Blush. Not sure if Sharpies would have the same effect on white hair or if it was the particular combination of these pens and bleach weakened hair, but I wouldn’t! There are so many colours you can buy specifically for hair, why would you use pens instead? Get a pack of Live colours - they do 3 small tubes of pink/blue/purple or pink/orange/red etc which stay in for a few weeks.

I've seen Live hair dyes, but only in big packs of over-all colour. I just want to mess around with my greys. That's why I thought the 'delivery method' of a pen might work.

Why have you posted that link? That's just a cruel thing to do to an animal, and nothing to do with an adult wanting to experiment on themselves.
