Asda baby clothes

User1983 · 02/09/2018 23:16

I don't usually buy baby clothes from George at Asda but they have some cute Halloween and Christmas sleep suits that I would like to buy. Baby will be 9 months for Halloween and 11 months for Christmas so borderline for sizes.

How do the sizes come up, are they small or quite a comfy fit?

Thanks!

I always found them small (but DS was also 98th percentile for height and weight). I would say size up.

Thank you! I will go a size up.

I think they are true to size

I'm going to say true to size as my dd was 9th centile and I found them big on her.

PurpleMac · 03/09/2018 10:12

I'd say true to size - my DS is big so I always size up, and he has plenty of room to grow. So if he was an average size he would be fine in his actual size age.

Basically all of his clothes are from George, I love them!

Fatted · 03/09/2018 10:16

My DS were both big babies, so I would always size up. By nine months both were well into in 9-12 and at 11 months in 12-18 clothes.

Probably won't matter too much for a one off costume, but I always found Asda stuff was the first to get grown out of and shrunk.

Notso · 03/09/2018 10:19

I found them a bit odd with sizing, really wide but short in the legs. Particularly the babygro's and footed pj's.

JasperRising · 03/09/2018 10:29

We bough George a lot - found they are shortest in the leg so would be the first brand that we went up a size in. DC had a halloween costume (one of the fleecy sleepsuits that they don't actually sleep in) from there when they were 5 and a half months. We went for a 6-9month and it was pretty snug already - would not have wanted to put them in a 3-6month!

Agree with this^. My eldest who has always been really long and skinny looked ridiculous in anything from Asda!

iLoveSpaDays · 03/09/2018 10:34

True to size for my dad

iLoveSpaDays · 03/09/2018 10:34

DD*

mintich · 03/09/2018 10:35

True to size but my DD is 50th percentile

Spam88 · 03/09/2018 10:50

I've found them to be the same size as all other shops (except M&S which are massive).

BigBlueBubble · 03/09/2018 10:52

I find them quite small. Also the quality has been poor on everything except the basics like vests and muslins etc.

Livinglavidal0ca · 03/09/2018 11:34

True to size I think. My son is 74th centile and he fits his size. At 11 months the 9-12 months are a good fit if not slightly big. I also love the clothes, they wash nicely and they're so cheap I don't care if they need throwing in the bin after getting ruined with food staines/beach grime

ISeeTheLight · 03/09/2018 11:37

Small and wide. Fine if you have a baby built that way, but DD was long and lean and it did not fit her whatsoever. Massive width wise and too short length wise.

gilmoregal · 03/09/2018 12:13

I think I'm the only one to say this but I had some newborn stuff and found it really big but haven't had anything since.

Might have a look as would like a cute Halloween vest for a photo for calendar gifts for Christmas. Thank you 😊

Grapes- I found the same with tiny baby, we were bought s couple of packs of vests and grows from there the day he arrived by MIL as it was the easiest place to run too and we didn't have much tiny baby incase growth scans were completely wrong.

He fit mothercare and boots tiny/early baby but the George stuff hung off him until about six weeks.

ADuckNamedSplash · 03/09/2018 13:51

DD is 12 months and I've found Asda to be true to size up til this point, but their 12-18 month stuff is really big. DD is 91st percentile and is 12-18 month stuff from other shops, but the autumn and winter stuff I've bought her from Asda, I've stuck with 9--12.

TheGhostOfYou · 03/09/2018 13:53

I've always thought they come up big with DD1, but on DD2 they're more true to size.

ToastyFingers · 03/09/2018 13:59

I came on to say that I found them to be quite short in the leg, and quite wide in the body. I feel oddly validated by other people's opinions :)
