Looking at getting tickets for the Arctic Monkeys but only 2 together at reasonable price are in standing,

Will I get covered in thrown pint glasses full of wee!!?!

Don't know what the crowd are like and I've heard some horror stories...

I used to go to many gigs and was never touched by wee because I never stood at the front or the mosh pit. Always stood to the sides.

I did see many pints of wee go flying over the audience though.

I'm totally with the 'what the fuck' brigade but the 'yes I've been soaked before' crew have convinced me to try for seated!

I'm on a resale site and they are coming up I just need a day at my laptop so I can be fastest finger first!

I wish I didn't know this. Bottles of piss lobbed backwards through the crowd? Jesus wept.

Yes happened to me and my friend at a killers gig in hyde park a few years ago, we were near the front and got saturated with piss our hair was dripping, then it rained, we slipped in the mud
We then had to get the mega bus home at 11 pm. Noone sat by us !!!!

Ringonrighthand · 03/09/2018 21:19

General rule of thumb I find is if it's cold it's beer but warm it's piss.

Alex Turner from AM put the Mike down and threatened not to carry on if people kept throwing bottles on the stage once at a gig. Couldn't blame him tbf!

This is also, by a significant margin, my most popular OP I think

Wow, I’ve seen the Arctic Monkeys twice and didn’t get soaked in wee!

Once at Leeds festival, although we were stood well back, and at the MEN. We were in the seats though - or maybe Mancunians are just more civilised Wink.

BusySittingDown · 04/09/2018 07:16

Btw I couldn’t see anything being thrown in the standing bit and we were quite near.

golddustwomen · 04/09/2018 07:22

I've seen them 3 times and never been soaked in piss. Beer maybe !
I'll be seeing them next month, can't wait!
What ticket site are you using? Be careful as they're being very strict this year and asking to see the buyers ID on entry to the arena.

Aragog · 04/09/2018 07:37

I went to see Liam Gallagher this summer. It was outdoors and we sat right at the back. There was fine. From about half way forward to the front then yes, you'd have been wet.

Urgh! I still don't understand why they do it. It was an eye opener for teenage Dd - it was her concert of choice - who'd not seen that happen before. We enjoyed the concert but glad we made the decision to sit/stand where we did.

Aragog · 04/09/2018 07:42

And yes, it did use to happen in the past. I remember it from festivals and outdoor concerts - though only certain types of bands generally - from the early 90s.

It's vile.

DeusEx · 04/09/2018 07:45

Never seen this inside...

politicalcorrectnessisgreat · 04/09/2018 07:58

Been to loads of gigs in the 90s. Wasn't a thing at all. Men and boys can be so utterly disgusting. Disappointed in the human race once again Sad

serbska · 04/09/2018 08:34

Arctic monkeys? Won’t everyone there be at least 35 now?

Tubbyinthehottub · 04/09/2018 08:56

You might, yes. I saw them years ago at an outdoor venue and got lager and wee on me. There was also quite a nasty fight in the crowd. I think that was the last gig I ever went to.

ShirleyPhallus · 04/09/2018 09:04

I’ve never had wee on me in quite a number of festivals / gigs

However, I have seen quite a few mosh pits / those running circle things and it always amuses me at how lame they actually are

Changedmename1234 · 04/09/2018 09:10

Ive been to loads of gigs and festivals over the years, probably hundreds. The only time I ever got soaked in piss was at an arctic monkeys gig in Blackpool. I also came down with chickenpox at the same gig but I don’t think that was the arctic monkeys fault.
