Please give me an idea of how much a new bathroom would cost

We are thinking g about it and my friend has slightly concerned me by saying she's had a recent quote for 6.5K. This is for a small bathroom using basic units - toilet, bath and sink. Some tiling.

My bathroom is pretty large, not stupidly so. I don't need loads of tiling done

So what have you recently paid for your new bathroom? I know it's a bit 'how long is a price of string' but are new bathrooms done to a good but relatively basic standard really over 6k?

My mums was 7k it's absolutely gorgeous though. Standalone bath, double shower. Luxury.

Mine was £6k a few years ago. It's approx 5ft square Grin As the bathroom fitter pointed out, the bath costs the same however big the bathroom.

In fairness tho, I did have a bath removed, the basin and new shower re-plumbed, three walls and the floor tiled. I also bought an expensive shower cubicle (frame less) and a lovely vanity unit & mirrored wall unit from Bathstore (not the cheapest shop...).

On the plus side I still love it

It does depend on what you want. Eg I was very fussy about the loo and the shower. If I'd been less fussy, they could easily have been cheaper. I could have gone for a cheaper vanity unit & cupboard. I would've regretted it tho. Assuming you can afford it, then go for what you actually want or you'll kick yourself after.

Large main bathroom replastered from bare walls, walls and floor tiled, suite fitted. Bought things separately online etc. Freestanding bath and walk-in shower. Total £6.5k.

Small ensuite, everything bought from one supplier (mistake!) £3.5k with fitting.

Watching with interest as we are hoping to have ours done soon and just thinking about gathering quotes. Also hoping 6k isn't the norm! 😅

Blimey. Seems it could be the norm!

I just want white units - nice but don't have to be luxe. It's our en suite but also happens to be a big bathroom as we are in a town house so it's half the top floor.

I was sincerely hoping for under 4K

6.5k to 7k as well over here for a new bathroom in June of this year.

Fill refit but nothing at all fancy, designed to keep costs down by fitting into existing pipework etc.
