WWYD - miss an evening holiday for a industry award?

So we are going on a UK holiday in a few weeks and this has been planned for a while. Going with another couple and both our small DCs (both in bed for 7).
I have also been nominated for an industry award and have reached the finals Shock! The awards ceremony is on one of the evenings of the holiday and is an hour drive away. I usually go but got a good deal on the holiday and wasn't going for any awards.
Someone nominated me for the award and others who have won in previous years have gone on to get amazing promotions or raises as a lot of the top people in the industry are there.

Now would you attempt to go to the ceremony(just for the awards bit) after the DCs have gone to bed. Haven't really mentioned the idea to DH but mentioned I was excited about being nominated.

WWYD?

“On the award, and DH and he is happy for me to go. on your choice of DH”

Huge congratulations, OP, well done.

But as for the above, really?

Why even the doubt that you should go? Why wait til after the kids were in bed when they had a Dad who could look after them?

Use your success to claim your ground, OP!

And may your rightful promotion follow swiftly on your success.

Pinkprincess1978 · 21/09/2018 13:55
