Think you can get them from asda for about £2, ofter 3 for £5

MegGriffin · 31/08/2018 14:23

Thank you Stealth. Unfortunately I'm stuck with card factory or Clinton. I'm going to send my eldest out later to get a few, and will give her the money, I was just wondering roughly how much. I really wish we had an asda though.

Thank you. I had a look and could only find potable ones so this is perfect. Many thanks

The earth

Tiredmumno1 · 31/08/2018 14:32

Are you near a Poundland? They do helium balloons, £1 for the balloon and another £1 to fill it with helium.

Backinthebox · 31/08/2018 14:33

Don’t waste helium.

MegGriffin · 31/08/2018 14:34

Yes we are, thank you. Will get her to have a look.

Isn't the balloon helium somehow different to medical grade helium (less pure?).

I'm more concerned about use of single use non recyclable plastic and how most helium balloons seem to end up littering fields and hedgerows.

you'll learn OP that it's a big mistake to ask about helium balloons on here.

MegGriffin · 31/08/2018 14:36

Well I didn't know that Backinthebox. Will forget balloons consider your message achieved..

I paid £2.50 for a helium balloon for dd yesterday.
She let go of it on the way home, then cried because I didn't catch it.
Anyone in Glasgow seen Peppa pig floating around?

MegGriffin · 31/08/2018 14:38

You learn something new every day. Birthdays without balloons, will have to think of something else for my mums 8th...

DaisyDreaming · 31/08/2018 14:56

Apparently, some balloons are recyclable and others are safe to throw away as they degrade. If you don't let them float off they should be fine?

Backinthebox · 31/08/2018 15:02

I am by no means free of environmental shame myself but I wish I’d known about a lot of things sooner. I prefer to give or receive a plant these days - a balloon is a passing thing but a plant lasts much longer.

GoodbyeSummer · 31/08/2018 15:07

Hmm then again, maybe not.. balloonsblow.org/latex-balloons-still-kill/

pinkandbluestripes · 31/08/2018 15:49

I know it's not answering your post but we don't do balloons at all any more.

BasicUsername · 31/08/2018 15:53

@Backinthebox -I had no idea about this. Thanks for sharing, I'll be giving helium filled balloons a miss from now on.

pinkandbluestripes · 31/08/2018 15:56

I mean we don't buy any types of balloon now inc latex types.

BarbaraHepworth · 31/08/2018 15:56

Indoor fireworks can be fun.
