Holly Willoughby.

Have just heard the news that she's going to be hosting Im a Celebrity with Dec in November due to Ant's ongoing troubles.

Why is this vapid, personality vacuum shoehorned into everything on ITV? Dec showed on Britain's Got Talent that he's more than capable of hosting on his own. He doesn't actually need a co host really. No one on social media is happy about either, maybe due to the fact that's they know all the banter will revolve around Holly acting all ickle girly and simpering, despite the fact that she's pushing 40 now.

I genuinely think this is a dreadful decision that will impact on my enjoyment of the show.

Maybe he didn't want to.
Maybe he likes Holly and knows her, so feels happy and comfortable to co host with her.

You don't have to watch.

No one on social media is happy about either,

Ive seen plenty on FB and Twitter who really don't mind or who like her. Its not like she is universally disliked by all.

TBH the most grief she's been given on Social media appears to be who will be caring for her children whilst she is away - and like has been said elsewhere, no one would ask a father that question.

Sunflowerr · 30/08/2018 18:28

@Aragog you're right. Dec's baby is due September isn't it.

Don't know whether to laugh or cry at these threads. OP posts a perfectly reasonable opinion that she doesn't care for a sleb, a SLEB and someone always bleats 'your a nasty so and so' or the old chestnut of 'you don't have to watch it' FFS !! GROW.UP.

Personally I find she's got all the personality of a wet sock and Dec could do a fine job on his own or with someone he might have some chemistry with....and that isn't Willoughby.

shadypines · 30/08/2018 19:52

A)"I don't like ice - cream"
B) "you don't have to eat ice cream!

A) I don't like football
B) You don't have to watch it or play it!

A) I don't like Corrie
B) You don't have to watch Corrie...!

And on and on, in other words don't have an opinion because you don't have to do anything right? Give.Me.Strength.

stressedtiredbuthappy · 30/08/2018 19:54

Sorry I think ant and dec are a double act, I don't think one will work without the other.

JaneJeffer · 30/08/2018 20:53

I wonder if there'd be as much hate if Holly wasn't slim and pretty. I don't like her fake laughter nothing to do with her looks. Oh look I've been out drinking all night and I'm still wearing the same clothes Hmm

TomHardysNextWife · 30/08/2018 21:01

She's a very lightweight presenter without much going on upstairs but she's blessed with being very pretty so gets away with it. Meh.

I find it hard to feel much outrage at her leaving her kids too. She must have a fleet of nannies looking after the kids, she's too busy being cool and drinking...... [hmmm].

TomHardysNextWife · 30/08/2018 21:01

Hmm even!

luckycat007 · 30/08/2018 22:16

At least it's not Myleene Klass Wink

MistressDeeCee · 30/08/2018 22:31

She's blonde and pretty with a great figure so of course she'll get lots of work, until a younger clone of her takes her place eventually.

Can't say if she'd be good or not. She comes across a bit Stepford to me. But I really don't think that will matter re I'm A Celeb. She looks good - that's enough

thegreatbeyond · 30/08/2018 22:37

I wanted Cook and Line off 'Swashbuckle'.

Perfectly1mperfect · 31/08/2018 00:56

She will obviously have been made to wear her dress from the night before though, to bring attention to the fact that they were at an award show where they won an award. It's meant to be a joke.

All the comments online by people asking who will look after her children are disgusting. She's a working mum. The children have a father also. If a mum on here posted, "I have the opportunity to work away for a few weeks, but I feel bad either leaving my children with their father, other family, nanny etc," then I think anyone who told the mum she shouldn't go and hint she's a bad mum would be in the minority and get lots of shit for saying it.

sweethope · 31/08/2018 01:06

The ones that say it's bitchy to dare to slag off a celeb, bore off.

gluteustothemaximus · 31/08/2018 01:12

ITV didn't have a lot of choice. They could only choose between Holly or Phil or Holly or Phil or...Holly or Phil.

Thank fuck it's not gino d'cunto though.

Dec is brilliant on his own. Not sure if will watch it. Don't think Holly can present well.

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 31/08/2018 04:32

I don't think it's that MrsDean , there are plenty of slim and dare-I-say prettier people with presenting talent.

DoryNow · 31/08/2018 12:17

Who says she's going without the family ? Do we know this? She may have got a family suite at the Versace written into her contract for all we know so they can all be together for SOME of the time.

As PP have said would we be talking about this aspect if it were a male presenter. Dec's wife will a have only just given birth I don't see the outrage there- they may decde to fly both of them over too, who knows up to them to make it work. She might just enjoy being on her own with babe & other family for a few weeks.

Davros · 31/08/2018 12:20

Perfectly well said

JovialNickname · 03/09/2018 15:21

I'm not really that keen to tune in to I'm a celeb for Holly Willoughby - she's nice enough in a saccharine kind of way, but I don't see any real rapport or chemistry there with Dec. I used to love watching the commentary and piss taking from Ant and Dec, it really made the show for me! In my opinion she just doesn't have that dry, dark, mischievous wit. She just looks like a smiley face emoji all the time.

I think they should have had Kiosk Keith on as Dec's presenting partner. As he says basically nothing that would be quite funny in itself, and would be someone for Dec to "bounce" off of whilst pretty much hosting on his own! But no one ever listens to me Grin

Sparklingbrook · 03/09/2018 15:27

Cat Deeley had her second baby in June this year. She is the host of a dance show on US TV so she presumably couldn't just drop that.

I think Dec would be fine on his own TBH.

Probably best to watch IACGMOOH on catch up and whizz through all the HW stuff.

HolyMountain · 03/09/2018 15:41

I’m not annoyed by her but I hope she’s not going to be a squealing and gagging mess when she sees something she finds scary or grim.
