I don't know what to do. I can't cope. I'm exhausted, depressed and it's killing me. I can't cope. Why does she keep waking up so much. I can't cope. She's bf but I know she's not hungry when she wakes up most of the time. I can't put her down in her cot. She just wakes up as soon as I do that. I don't know what to do. Please can someone help me.

Silent reflux? Does she sleep if being held up right? Could it be lying down?

OP I didn't say DC settled with DH Wink I had earplugs, separate room with all doors firmly shut.. and a grim determination as I knew I was on the verge of a devastating mental collapse due to extreme sleep deprivation. Not even joking. It was horrendous but we all survived!

Oh I remember this poor you! It does pass but hell whilst it’s happening.
DS1 was like this but without the 4 hours at 12 weeks.
He settled down when we started weaning at 20ish weeks. He was growing a lot and I couldn’t keep up. I also stopped BF at this time, but sounds like it might be tricky for you have you tried a sippy cup (are they still called that it’s been 11 years!!)
Sleep is really important for you too

My DS was like this, every 45 mins through the night for months at that age. It's so fucking hard. ThanksHe just grew out of it.. I think it was a combined shitbomb of teething, being more prone to trapped wind and his breathing has always been a bit raspy. I had to wait for his tubes and stomach to develop more I guess.. He started sleeping better at 11 months.

PenelopeFlintstone well I've started her on 2 meals a day - some porridge for breakfast and some mashed veg for the evenings. It hasn't made any difference to the nights but she definitely is napping a lot better esp after her porridge. So maybe this might spill over into the nights after a month or so.

I'm not looking forward to going back to school as I'm going to have less sleep as I'm waking up late ATM.

It's so hard but it helps to know I am not alone.

A bottle before bed made no difference at all to my bf baby. It is utterly exhausting. If the porridge is helping, how about trying that at bedtime? Maybe give some banana /yogurt at breakfast?

Niger · 01/09/2018 13:59

If I gave porridge in the morning and in the evening is that getting a bit too much?

Porridge or Weetabix with a bit of mashed banana at bedtme should do the trick, complex carbs & all that. My HV gave me that tip when mine were that age & it saved my sanity I can tell you!!

Maybe give her some fruit in the morning & save the porridge for as late a meal as you can .
