As above.

Dd sitting 11+. Her English, is excellent, she is coming on in nvr. But being rubbish at maths myself I don't know how to help her.

I got her the cpg maths word problems book yesterday and the 10 min tests suit her. At school the teachers say her grasp of tables is brilliant, she is a good maths student. Top set getting around 117 in school tests.

I can grasp what subject need to be covered in English but I'm at a total loss in maths.

Any other books or on line things will be fabulous thank you

I tutor for 11 plus
Have a loom at 11plusexams.co.uk for resources

My daughter's school uses this website. It has youtube videos on all of the topics

Thank you. Silly as it sounds I'm not sure what to get her to focus on and I'm reluctant to spend more ££.

Eg in nvr I know she is good at rotation, reflection, weaker on cube nets (but amazingly we managed to brush her skills up on those via u tube videos today!) but with maths I just want one book or one thing that someone knows will cover everything

That looks v helpful thanks butterfly.

Is there any one topic that they may not have covered in class? Dd has not done algebra for instance.

The 11+ exam is different in different parts of the country so it is hard to say in general what will be covered.

www.elevenplusexams.co.uk breaks it down by county/area and there is a forum for each one. You might get better advice asking on there.

I'd say making sure she has a strong grasp of different mathematical terms is important - what is meant by the median or the mean for example. So that if those come up in questions she knows what they are looking for.

Also if she is doing multiple choice papers make sure she knows how to fill in the grids, to take a guess if she really doesn't know how to answer a question, to leave gaps if she wants to go back (so she's not filling in all her answers on the wrong line). Sounds obvious but it was a bit of a revelation to my DD when I told her about guessing and not wasting time on something she doesn't know how to do.

Cedar that's very helpful thank you.

I'm looking at 11+ maths flash cards for revision.

Hopefully they will cover all the names like median and anything else...
I find it the 11+ forum very hard to navigate.
