Moving to North Wales

We're relocating to North Wales somewhere....

I'm a teacher and don't speak Welsh so need to be commutable to address further East/ England where there are more English medium schools. Also need to be English medium schools where we live.

Husband is going to be working at Bangor university. Needs to be a 30 minute or less train journey.

Budget is about 230k and we'd like 3-4 bedrooms.

Where should we be looking? Is Colwyn Bay nice? Conwy? Llandudno?

Yes, we regularly watch the Beluga! Actually we're in Deeside rather than Broughton.

Get your kids to help you if they're being brought up bilingual. I can't speak it but I have a smattering, mostly from the kids. Numbers, well done (very important as a teacher) etc

Sorry I might not have been clear, she's being brought up bilingually with a different language than Welsh, so won't be much help yet.

I'm a linguist so I guess I'm well placed to learn but I'm just nervous about finishing a job!

Oh lol!! I assumed it was welsh for some reason.

If you are teaching high school level and teach a shortage subject I doubt that they will care if you don't have Welsh.
