I have a great soup maker..

I believe they call it a pot. Grin

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 27/08/2018 17:11

I have a saucepan in which I make soup. It's great!

Are soup makers actually a thing?

Megsmcgoo · 27/08/2018 17:13

I have a breville soup maker and it’s fab! Appreciate it can be made with a pan and blender but it is a massive time saver for me

NanTheWiser · 27/08/2018 17:20

I have a Morphy Richards Sauté & Soup, which does what it says - you can sauté the veg first, then add your stock/bouillon, press the button, and leave for 21 minutes and Hey Presto! All done and ready to eat.
I have soup every day in the winter, making up a batch that sees me through the week, and minimal washing up. I love it!

GreyBird84 · 27/08/2018 17:35

Grin yes I know I can make soup in the pot !
I am a full time carer for my 4 year who got his autism diagnosis last week so anything that saves me time is worth it.

Sauté & soup sounds like the job will look it up!

I’ve got the Tefal one. It’s great. I know there’s comments about using a pan but this is like a instant cooker and blender in one. It even cleans itself! You put hot water in and set it to clean. It needs minimal cleaning after that. Only criticism is that it can burn a bit on the base but using a bit of oil seems to stop that.

I've got the cuisinart one and it's fab!! Quite pricey but IMO worth every penny.

cuisinart soup maker

grumpypug · 27/08/2018 18:06

I got the morphy Richards soup and smoothie maker. £39.99 in B&M and it's FAB!!

GreyBird84 · 27/08/2018 18:16

Oh like the idea of one that cleans itself!!! 😂😂

I also have the sauté and soup. I love it, had it for about 4 years and used it countless times. I also purchased one each for both mine and my partners mum at Christmas and they love theirs too. One of my best buys :).

I've got the morphy Richards sauté and soup one too - it's really fantastic I use it all winter.

I have problems with my hands so peeling and chopping veg is tricky for me- I've discovered that frozen chopped veg works fine in this, and you don't need to defrost it first.

Tinned potatoes are brilliant in it too - makes soups taste really creamy without having to add any actual cream!

ElfrideSwancourt · 27/08/2018 18:30

Apologies for the triple post Blush

VeryFoolishFay · 27/08/2018 18:35

Had a glut of courgettes and made this today; 19 yr old DS has already had 2 portions! Really quick and easy and has a pesto feel - definitely use the parmesan, though!

Another vote for Saute and Soup. I've had it a few years now. I used to make soup in a saucepan but this makes it so much quicker and easier. Like others, I make up a batch at the start of the week and it sees me through to the end of the week. Lovely.

Impatientwino · 27/08/2018 20:38

Sauté and soup here too, I love it. As much as I love the summer I'm looking forward to soup season!

fraggle84 · 27/08/2018 20:45

Only thing is that they are loud when in use, thought I'd mention it as my ds didn't cope with the noise when I borrowed one to try

NonaGrey · 27/08/2018 20:48

I have the Morphy Richards one too.

The advantage over a pot is that you don’t have to watch it.

Just bung everything in and come back when the timer goes off.

I use mine all the time.

elephantoverthehill · 27/08/2018 20:49

My DM Grin. However I do make good soup in my slow cooker.

bananasandwicheseveryday · 28/08/2018 23:21

@fraggle84

Apart from when the ma home is blending the soup, I can't say it's noisy at all. And even when the blending is happening, it's no louder than using a stick blender or food processor which is what I used to do when I made soup in a saucepan. Can only speak for my one - was the one you borrowed a difference brand?

veep · 15/09/2018 13:06

I have the Morphy Richards saute soup maker. It's fantastic! Love how you just bung everything in and in 21 minutes you have soup! Just made some for lunch today. Yummy!
