Do you ever use the higher temperature options on your washing machine <DULL THREAD KLAXON>

I washed my dog's bed on the highest temperature yesterday and it occurred to me that i've never used that setting before. We do our regular washing on 40 degrees or 60 if something is unusually filthy.

So it made me wonder if anybody ever uses those higher temperatures and if so, what for? I'm basically wondering if i'm missing a trick and that washing my towels at 95 will make them extra fluffy etc? Obviously, before anybody says it, i'm eco minded and won't be boil washing everything I own. Just curious about occasional uses?

What say you, wise MNetters?

Bedding, towels at 60
E cloths, tea towels at 90
Empty cleaning cycle with vinegar at 90

Everything at 40.
Bedding at 60.

I wash everything at 30 apart from the cats and dog's bedding which goes in at 90 because cat1 apparently can't tell the difference between the litter tray, the dog's bed and cat2's bed, never pees in his own bed though, bastard cat.

I wash clothes at 30 or 40.

I do sheets & towels at 60.

The 90 wash programme is unnecessary, I've never used it.

I do all towels, tea towels and bedding at 90°

Most other things at 40° but with bio liquid.

Why would you not?

I never used to, then I noticed my machine was always smelling like damp/mould no matter what wash stuff or cleaner I used or leaving it open to dry. Google told me to do a 90 wash which I did and cleared the smell right up, along with taking out the drawer and scrubbing that and the inside.

Coincidentally DW mentioned her work shirts were getting a bit grey, so bought some recommended bio tabs instead of our usual liquid and now do one 90 long wash a week, DWs work shirts and the top sheet we sleep under in summer instead of a duvet, everything is crisp white again. Towels I do at 60, everything else at 40. The 90 wash takes a good hour longer than the other program so wouldn't use it for everything.
