One grey hair on 6 year old, is this normal?

DD has dark brown hair and I just spotted a grey/silver strand of hair (no blonde/lighter colours in her hair).
Is it normal to get a single grey hair as a child?

My ds had one at 15 and none since.

My ten year old has gradually gained a few. Started at about three. We tell him it's a sign of how clever and wise he is.

We had this! 4yo dd. Red curly hair. One long straight wiry grey / white one out of nowhere. Pulled it out. Definitely attached to scalp. Nothing since but did freak me out a bit...

My 5 year old DD has a few. Both me and my Mam and grandmother did too.

It can be a sign of vitamin b12 deficiency. It's not 'normal' so I'd probably get it checked out.

I think the odd random one is normal. I have 3 children and have pulled the odd one out of all of their hair when they were under 10.

kaytee is right. Its worth getting checked out.

JadziaSnax · 25/08/2018 11:54

I had one at 7. It was my only grey hair until last month when I found another one.

DD has a solo grey hair too. I think the odd one is pretty normal.

It is very normal in Japan, if that helps?!

They are quite vitamin deficient though in general so that’s probably a good point.
