Lowestoft - worth a visit?

I don't know Suffolk well so would anyone recommend Lowestoft or anywhere else on the coast around there for a few days break?

Pushed the boat out and stayed at the Swan

I'd never have heard of it if it wasn't for this thread so thank you for all the amazing recommendations.

Desperate to head back to Suffolk and see more of it.

We had a stop at Tiptree too and spent far too much money on jars of beautiful things.

Have a look at Potters Resort at Hopton... in between Lowestoft (not good) and Gorleston (lovely place I call home). It's a lovely resort with gym and spa and a good restaurant I like called black rock grill. Gorleston has some nice bars and places to eat etc easy to mouch about for a few days! Could visit Norwich to see the castle and theatre. Lots going on

lowestoft i live there and no i would not advise a visit,unless you want to sit in queues of traffic. we had new road built and it causes terrible traffic queues.we have a joke once in here you cant get out again. the beach used to be fantastic but not any more. there is nothing for families to do here other than the beach.parking is expensive and the high street consists of charity shops and phone shops. it used to be a lovely place but not anymore. a great shame. southwold is worth a visit.

Lavenham is beautiful OP, you'll have a fab time.
