Rice pudding question

I made a delicious pudding yesterday (rice, milk, sugar, butter), we ate half, and refrigerated it when cool. Can I eat it today? I’ve read stuff about rice not being safe when reheated and I’m a ~massive~ bit of a health worrier so I just wanted to check what others would do. Thank you!

I would definitely reheat and eat it. And now I’m off to google a rice pudding recipe...

I think it depends on a few things.

  1. Rice should be eaten or cooled down quickly. You could put it in a flat tray/ or in the fridge whilst it's still warm. (I don't do that with other food items...) The longer the rice was left at room temperature the higher the danger of food poisoning.
  1. Eat the rice the next day.
  1. When reheating the rice it needs to be steaming hot.

Burning it’s this one:

Although it’s very sweet so I’d use a bit less sugar next time, the texture and creaminess was amazing.

Thanks for all the info! Star

Excellent, thanks! My nan’s rice pudding was always (even) better the next day.
