Pizza alternatives

I've got some friends coming over this weekend with their dcs ranging from 3-7years old.
I don't have kids myself and am not sure what to feed them for lunch, it will be a quick stop cos we will be heading out, and so nothing too complicated! I've only ever served them pizza, so was hoping to do something different which they will eat (don't think they are too adventurerous with food)
Any fool proof ideas?

Basic buffet stuff ? Sausage rolls, cocktail sausages, crisps, chopped fruit ?

Pasta pesto, most kids like it, or even plain pasta with olive oil and a bowl of grated cheese to sprinkle

It's lunch. Make a platter of sandwiches in advance - ham , cheese, egg mayo. Present on a platter sprinkle with cress if you must. Apple or crisps to finish. That should be enough for everyone. Then go out have fun.

Baguette, cheese, ham, houmous, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, pepper, carrot, crisps. That sort of thing. Put everything in separate bowls and they can choose the bits they like. Maybe some coleslaw or other salads for the adults. Olives if you like them.

As pp said, loads of slad stuff cut up in bowls so they can help themselves plus I always add some of these cheaptastyandeasy.wordpress.com/cheesy-sticks/ because my 6 years olds and their friends just love them.

Another vote for a picky bits help yourself kind of lunch. Cut up in advance, serve themselves from bowls - cubes of cheese, cucumber, tomatoes, maybe hard boiled eggs or slices of ham/chicken, or things like those little "snack eggs" mini scotch eggs. Humus, or other dipping type options if you want to get a little fancier. Crackers or breadsticks, or slices of baguette. Cut up fruit, grapes, etc. Simple and even fussy kids should find enough to make a lunch from.

Thanks for all the ideas everyone!
