DH had a brain aneurysm today. I still can't really believe it. He's ok, I think.. In pain but they said 'no neurological damage'. But he will need keyhole surgery, which he seems to think will happen tomorrow. I've been looking after our 2 DDs, trying to keep calm for them. But just feeling very scared and wanting to be with DH.

Oh goodness I am the first to read this so can’t not respond. I am so sorry you must be worried witless. Try and get some sleep and I hope tomorrow brings positive news. Keep us updated x

Your poor thing! Flowers such a shock and worry to go through.

The feedback is sounding very positive and you are doing a great job at remaining calm. Keyhole surgery will be a much quicker healing time and he will be home safe with you soon.

Thinking of you, you'll all get through this xxx

Op, so sorry this is happening.
I used to work at the NationalNeurological Hospital and nurses many aneurysm patients post surgery.

They have said the magic words” no neurological damage” which is the best possible news in this situation. The outcomes from that position are really really good.
Put google down though, it makes a common cold sound life limiting.

Thanks everyone, particularly Ohyesiam, that does make me feel a lot better. I've been telling the DDs 'I'm sure Daddy will be fine' and there's a little voice in the back of my mind saying 'but will he...?' DH was so shaken when it happened, he knew something was definitely not right.

Just wanted to thank everyone again for responding last night. Things are looking a lot better today, he had the keyhole procedure and he seems to have had the most mild type of aneurysm- not sure that is the right word, but you know what I mean! He will need to be monitored carefully and will be in hospital for a few nights, but no immediate danger or long term consequences.

Hooray!!! Thank heavens. Very relieved for you so pleased he's going to be okay. Here's to a speedy recovery! CakeFlowers

Sending hugs and Flowers, what an awful thing for you all.

His prognosis is looking the very best it can right now. Google knows nothing of the particulars; listen only to his Neurologist and the hospital staff nursing him.

Aw12345 · 22/08/2018 19:21

Sounds very scary Flowers I don't blame you for googling but just want to say that he's in the best place and I'm really pleased it was "the most mild form" :-)

Keep us posted as he recovers Smile

Great news💐

Jb291 · 22/08/2018 19:29

Thoughts with you OP. Glad that the prognosis is very good. Try to make sure you and the children go home tonight and eat and drink and try to get some sleep. You must be absolutely exhausted.

Ohyesiam · 22/08/2018 19:43

So glad for you op Grin

MrsKCastle · 22/08/2018 21:37

Thanks, yes, feel utterly drained today. Luckily have got family and friends close by who are able and willing to help with childcare so that's one less worry.
