How do you clean your InSinkerator? And why shouldn't I use bleach?

I have moved into a house that has an Insinkerator in the kitchen sink..... it's become a bit smelly.
How do you clean yours?

Looking online, I see it frequently says I shouldn't use bleach. But why not?

I use baking soda and some white vinegar, leave it to fix for five minutes, then hot water to flush it away. Afterwards I stick a quarter of a lemon down to make it smell fresh til the next time it's used.

Following as I’m in the same situation!

Bleach corrodes metal so I would imagine it wouldn’t be good for something with blades in it.

Don’t forget to clean the rubber bung too.
Don’t know why it says don’t bleach. This cleaning advice says it’s OK - not pouring neat bleach down though. www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/cleaning-maintenance/3067-smelly-waste-disposal-a-how-to-clean-it

Oh yes the removable rubber bit that goes in the top goes in the dishwasher. That's the bit that gets all disgusting underneath if you leave it too long.
