Recommendation London hotel for mum 70th

Would like to book mum and step dad theatre tickets and London hotel for her 70th. Was thinking a big splash treat. Can’t afford savoy or Ritz. Even “one Aldwych” is £500 for one night!! If I can spend £200 (max) on theatre tickets I think I could do £250 max on a London hotel. Any thoughts? Although less on both would be good!

Mondrian on Bankside? Good hotel but avoid the main restaurant

I've got good deals at the Radisson Edwardian properties before

The Zetter Townhouse www.thezettertownhouse.com there's one in Clerkenwell (not far from Farringdon station) and one in Marylebone. Not checked the prices though! If they are a bit steep, the one in Clerkenwell also has an 'ordinary' Zetter just over the road www.thezetter.com - I've stayed in that one in a standard room and it was very nice - the breakfast was superb! And it has a few rooftop rooms too, which are a bit more quirky and luxurious.

Henrietta Covent Garden looks good walking past. Not been in.

Try the Haymarket Hotel - although think that comes in at about £300. You might get a deal if you book slightly off season.

This is a gorgeous hotel - although admittedly I haven't been in a decade and but it still looks nice from the pictures. Tara Copthorne Kensington www.millenniumhotels.com/en/london/copthorne-tara-hotel-london-kensington/.

Alistair Sawdays special places may be a good look. I often get lost of his website for hours! www.sawdays.co.uk He reviews unique and beautiful hotels, the sort that you wouldn't normally find on the usual hotel search engines or without a specific name and they are often stunning and reasonably priced.

Or Blakes in Kensington www.blakeshotels.com

Oops, sorry, just checked the prices at Blakes and they look to be over your budget - unless you can get a deal.
