Is Centre Parcs as a child free break a terrible idea?

Me and DP looking for a cheap break for last week of Sept, come across some Centre Parcs deals - one is Mon-Fri for around £400. This seems super cheap although I have heard the activities/food are expensive when you get there. We probably wouldn’t do loads, mostly spa/relaxing stuff rather than sports etc.

Am I mad to consider this for a break with no kids involved? Will we hate it?

The idea of being in a nice forest appeals but please talk some sense into me if it’s a terrible idea.

I went there for the first time this year with children - all the adults commented along the lines of ‘who on earth would come here without children’! It’s very very geared towards families so unless eating in restaurants with soft play is your thing I’d give it a miss.

Plus, unlike above, we found children we’re out quite late. This kids disco went on until about 9 and was packed. This was the main place to drink so there was no escaping it

Have a look at The Bay Filey. I bet you can find a cottage for about that. We spent £450 for 3 of us and a dog in July. They have a pool, gym, pub on site and a beautiful beach.

For not much more than £400 you could get 5 days AI somewhere hot. Or go self-catering in Turkey where the £ is very strong against the Lira at the moment.

Whereabouts are you OP? I've done CentreParcs loads of times and yes, I would go without kids if the price was right. Less activities but lovely lodges at Forest Holidays. We recently went to www.landal.co.uk/uk/landal-kielder-waterside-kiel

Which was really nice but is a bit out of the way.

I'd look at lodges on Hoseasons as we've often picked up a bargain on there (lake District etc) but loads to choose from.

I love center Parcs child free! We have been numerous times pre children. We still go and children love it but I enjoyed it more before they came along - rapids, proper bike rides, late nights up drinking wine, competitive games of tennis/badminton... I didn't even use the spa!

Oh right, what a shame, when we used to go forest hols was cheaper :(

Thank you for your advice everyone!

I’m in the Midlands and don’t mind travelling a few hours so only Scotland etc discounted really.

Going to have a good search tonight and check out hoseasons and the other lodge companies and find a bargain hopefully Smile
