Misdiagnosis of skin cancer

Just looking for some advice really, in a who and how to approach way.
Backstory,
12 months ago I noticed I had a dry little patch of skin on my face, it would sometimes bleed. Had been there a couple of months.
I went to the Dr explained issue, she told me it was infected excema. I've never ever had excema so felt a bit hmmm about it.
She prescribed some cream to rub in and said it will get better.
Two months later, still not gone I attended again, explained I finished cream nothing happened. She told me to look out for any further changes over the next few weeks and not to worry.
Another two months later went back it's a bigger patch of skin, she prescribed me another cream. Utterly fed up I was lucky to be able to pay to see private dermatologist a month later.
She insisted on a biopsy which came back as Basal Cell Carcinoma.
I've had surgery to remove it and I'm on the mend.
I want to complain to my practise and Dr it's a small one with several locums and quite dismissive reception staff.
What would be the best way for me to make a complaint without being fobbed off. I want them to take it seriously and hope someone else in same situation doesn't get fobbed off the way I did.

This is appalling. Yes you should complain.
You can contact a solicitor if you want to make a financial claim against the NHS trust that employs the GP.
Otherwise, you write a complaint to the GP practice and await a response. You can copy your letter to the Care Quality Commission too.

Thanks for the reply,
I'm not seeking financial compensation,
i just want them to acknowledge they were wrong to dismiss it and that they will be more proactive in future. I know that can't be guaranteed but hoping if I complain loud and long enough the next person presenting with such symptoms won't be given the brush off.
