Is there a 'what did you have or what are you having for (insert what your call your evening meal here) thread?

These always tend to be quite popular here so I thought I'd start one.
My dh is a chef, and occasionally he is off on a Sunday, and when he is we always have a roast (because we rarely get chance to).
Now of course I'm biased and think he is a brilliant cook, but today we had a roast, and it was the nicest roast I've had in a long time. As I say I always enjoy every meal he makes, but I'm struggling to remember the last time I enjoyed a roast as much as I've enjoyed the one we've just had.
I've now banished him from the kitchen as I refuse to let him wash dry and put away, and clean the kitchen, after preparing and cooking a full roast on his own (I can not cook at all so he would not want my help), even enough he tried to insist on helping me clean up.
So, what did everyone have or what will everyone be having today?

Mac cheese here. Would have loved a proper roast but feeling lousy with the cold :(

Sausage, mash, broccoli, carrots and tonnes of gravy. Yum.

Spatchcock piri piri chicken (ready to cook from Lidl), roast baby potatoes and corn on the cob.

We had a simple barbeque. Sausages, spicy wedges, home grown giant corn on the cob, salad and coleslaw.

I love a roast dinner on a Sunday but was working today so ended up doing a chicken and smoked bacon pasta bake for tea instead with 2 portions for the freezer and another 2 to be made into another dish for the freezer

Warm version of a Ploughman's.
Crusty bread and butter, cheese and ham, new potatoes and green beans.

Toddler DS ate his weight in new potatoes, he loves them.

Toast and marmite. I'm not really into proper dinners anymore. I just make sure I eat my 5 a day and enough protein.

Homemade pizza & potato wedges followed by Strawberry Eton Mess cake

Cottage pie with peas. Not the most exciting meal but it was quite challenging to make in our holiday villa!
It was very tasty!!!

We had a day out and a late lunch, so it was a bit of fend for yourself. Children and I had incarnations of a cooked breakfast, DH fried up left over Chinese and the visiting parents had left over BBQ meat and salads.

aperolspritzplease · 19/08/2018 21:08

Roast pork. Can't remember the last time I cooked a roast, before the heat started, it was bloody lovely.

Spanakopita with tomato salad, and brioche French toast with stewed plums and vanilla ice cream.
