Neilsons holiday

After a week self catering I am thinking of staying in a hotel next year. No washing, cooking and cleaning is the main attraction. Dd is 13 and prone to telling me how bored she is so I was wondering about Nielsons holidays. We would like to have a go at the water activities. I have narrowed it down to Greece or one of the islands in the may half term. Any opinions?

Absolutely love them.
Been going ten years and this summer was the first time we went as parents.
It was Ace.
Although it will be pricey in school holidays.
I have nothing bad to say about them at all.
Been to a few of the resorts so happy to provide opinion.

No but I am doing the same in October half term, never done one before but my siblings and their kids love them.

I think it can be hard for an only child on holiday when everyone else seems to be in a group.

I hope it works for DD (12) who is a bit shy. Have booked Vounaki Beachclub.

We went to the Lemnos, Greece one last year. Plenty to do-the kids club (separate age groups so one for teens) was one of of the best I’ve seen. 12yo did 2x water activities (snorkeling, slip and slide, paddle boarding, sailing etc) a day, a few indoor things, an exercise class (usually Zumba, tennis is volleyball) and at least once a week they were own until 11pm for a film night.

As adults there was plenty of water sports and all ran teaching classes so in two weeks I learnt to sail, water ski (first two are free the rest are charged, same with wake boarding) and dp did lots of kayaking and kite surfing as well. All equipment is on the beach so outside of lessons you can go help yourself. Cycling is also a really big deal there if your into it, not our thing but lots of food things being said by others.

Food was good, not the most varied but god. Only 3 evening meals a week included though so we went into town one night, paid for the bbq one night (really good) and did the al fresco dining the last night (again really nice). Spent a fair amount on drinks though as there not included-all is added to your bill at the end so don’t need to carry cash. Overall an expensive holiday (just under £2k each adult for two weeks) but we’ll worth it! We’re returning next year but hopefully to the adult only resort they have on the island.

I took DS to one in Turkey when he was 12. It remains his favourite ever holiday.
