For example, if you were making a book for children about farms and only had room to feature 3 animals which ones would you choose?

I'd go for:

Cow
Pig
Chicken

I thought you were asking for my personal top 3 farm animals. Clearly been round the dcs too long. Either way:

  1. Cow
  2. Sheep
  3. Pig
MrsMoastyToasty · 16/08/2018 22:01

Geese
Buffalo

Cow , sheep , pig .

Trialsmum · 16/08/2018 22:04

This is like one of those questions ds asks like ‘what’s your 5th favourite water type pokemon’ but a bit easier 😂

🐄 🐑 🐖 are my top 3.

GinGeum · 16/08/2018 22:08

On our farm we only have cows, geese, chickens, horses and dogs, but id still say cows, sheep and pigs for top 3 farm animals. I’d also rather replace the geese and horses for sheep and pigs but there we go!!

Pondering1 · 16/08/2018 22:10

Weird as I wouldn't put pig in my top 3 my list!

  • cow
  • sheep
  • chicken/goose
Canshopwillshop · 16/08/2018 22:11

Sheep
Cow
Chicken

Slowpokes · 16/08/2018 22:13

Cow, pig, sheep

Weirdly, ds2 has a book of farm animals. A whole 8 pages, one page per animal and one of them is a worm. I don’t think that would even make my top 20.

AnguaResurgam · 16/08/2018 22:14

Where wouid you fund a working sheepdog other than on a farm? Confused

MoggyP · 16/08/2018 22:14

snake
mink
battery hens

Nacreous · 16/08/2018 22:15

Chicken, pig and cow.

RrreCansada · 16/08/2018 22:21

Poor sods all get killed for food. Sad

GinLimeandLemonade · 16/08/2018 22:26

Cow, pig, sheep.

LoftyLou · 16/08/2018 22:39

Same as you, thought pig, chicken, cow before opening the thread.

However the whole chicken/hen/cock/rooster/chick thing is a bit confusing if you ask me.

Slowpokes · 16/08/2018 23:10

RreCan that’s kind of the purpose of farm animals Confused

CocoLoco87 · 16/08/2018 23:12

Cows, pigs, sheep. Although i feel bad for missing out horses

HuntIdeas · 16/08/2018 23:17

Cow, chicken, sheep are what came to mind for me (with pig number 4)

I agree that you need to have chicken in there, because of the amount of chicken meat and eggs consumed.

kenandbarbie · 16/08/2018 23:20

Cow
Pig
Sheep

popocatepetals · 16/08/2018 23:23

Chickens are not farm animals, they are poultry.

wowfudge · 16/08/2018 23:24

Cow
Pig
Sheep

Near us all the farms have sheep or sheep and cattle. One has some goats, alpacas and rare breed sheep. I never realised how many different breeds of sheep there are until I'd driven past different ones every day for over a year. 🐏🐑

Feltcushion · 16/08/2018 23:49

Chickens don't tend to live on farms, they are the most numerous livestock animal nationally. We eat 2.2 million a day.

I would then think sheep (23.1 million) , cows about 9.92 million and pig around 4.9 million.

Although i would think that fish must be up there as well.

Katedotness1963 · 17/08/2018 03:14

Sheep
Cattle
Chooks

KNain · 17/08/2018 10:47

Cow
Pig
Sheep

First 3 that came to mind for me because they do tend to be predominantly on farms. Whereas lots of people keep ducks/chickens without being on a farm. Same with dogs and horses.

But those 3 would be unusual fo find outside of a farm iyswim.
