Advice as to how to proceed with this one

Over the last week it has become apparent that I am no longer the one in the office who is constantly belittled, criticised, spoken to like shit, sneered at and looked down upon.

They have a new victim. I found her crying her eyes out in a corner today.

Do I:

A). Breathe deep, ignore and keep my nut down, or
B) Stand up for the new victim and befriend her?

I am well aware that this is a toxic workplace.

The hours and location suit me and the money is pretty good for a low grade admin job in this part of the world.

My mental health is not consistent and I cannot begin to contemplate starting over, or even doing applications and certainly not interviews, while my self-esteem and unpredictable feelings are like they are. I am terrified of finding another place is just the same.

I need to sort myself out first.

I know the bitches are toxic to my mental health but I am just trying to strike enough of a balance to survive right now.

I want to do the right thing for me and for the new victim.

It shouldn’t be so bloody hard, should it?

The plus side toall this is that I now know I am not paranoid.

If it’s happening to someone else, then it’s not all in my head (which is what HR have said - because of my MH issues.)

Why should you leave? If it's bitchy comments and not actually about your work try to learn to tune them out if you can. Easier said than done, I would befriend your colleague it'll hopefully give you both a bit of strength. I cannot stand nasty bitchy women or bullies of any kind especially when management are utterly shit and don't stamp out this sort of thing. Good luck op

Thank you Queen - any jobs going at your place? 😆
