I’ve been having a clear out and we have 1000s of photos (old school paper). What do people do with them? When they were little I did albums so got 5 of those and I could put the rest in but just wondered knowing the creativity of the MN community does anyone do anything else with them?

You could continue making albums out of them, by year or theme or whatever.

Or you could scan them and make Hoffman (or whoever) albums.

Mine i put into physical albums. Any photos i take now are made into Hoffman-style albums. I find myself flicking through different albums over breakfast or when i sit with a coffee. It's a really nice past time.

I just put mine into albums with a clear plastic sleeve thing and a margin for work notes next to the print. I know some people stick them into scrap books etc but I'm a bit worried about using the wrong glue and causing the ink or the paper to degrade!

They're all in a box and I occasionally look through them to enjoy the nostalgia

Scan them in and upload to online storage

I know it's been an hour since I posted but I've just noticed that I wrote "work notes next to the print" in my reply above and it makes no sense. It's meant to say "writing notes next to the print," sorry.

Mostly wonder what to do with them all ! It's tricky.

I need to reread the bit in kondo about photos.

If you have the original physical photos, then put them in physical folders.

I have lost things online, don't trust it.

Plus i'm at a computer for work, i don't want to fire up the computer at home to look at photos.

I have photo albums i flick through from my secondary school days (late 80s) and albums of my childhood collated by oarents, and albums of great-great-grandparents. Great-great-uncles who went off to war and never came back etc. I wouldn't want to flick through them online, with half an eye on my camelcamelcamel updates because it's November and i want to buy a Hatchimal!

Cup of tea in the garden with a lovely book.

A lot of my old photos got damaged due to damp. I’ve been sorting through them, scanning them into my phone and making photo albums for different eras of my life. I threw away all the crap photos of nothing in particular.
