How do/did you find it?

I’m interested in a role at a small business with a currently female workforce.

Would be interested to hear the experiences of others.

Absolutely lovely and supportive, best workplace ever!

Not true about women being more bitchy, men can be just as bitchy but it’s not called bitchiness if men do it.

I was going to agree with a lot of posters and say that working with women was draining and gossipy, I've had experience of this when I worked in retail. However, I was a tour rep and while we had lots of male reps on the island the resort I was in was 99% female. It was the happiest time of my life. They were like a second family. Sure, there were fallouts but they didn't last long. I'm guessing as a pp said environment has a lot to do with it.

Nurse here - mainly female colleagues with a sprinkling of guys.
Hate to say it but can be bitchy, cliquey and lots of instances of backstabbing - awful oneupmanship too - mainly the women although not all thank god ! Like a school playground sometimes. The guys are more laidback and less judgemental generally. I wonder if it’s more to do with nurses just not being nice to each other rather than what gender they are Confused Dont see the medics behaving the same way !

Im a buyer. So its a very female dominated profession.

Il have always gotten along much better with mixed teams. Less bitchy by far.

It is a totally differant dynamic being all women.

Yes and current team are lovely
I don't think the mix of males /females has much of an affect on the team but attitude and effort do.
I've worked in a small office with a mixture that could be very cliquey and turn on people and that was the men and the women

Not all female but 4 men and 40 women. It's wonderful, very supportive and funny and caring, especially towards someone as junior as me.
Love it

I have done. Didn't find it bitchy, just a bit draining as I don't like to share personal information a lot and I don't want people I am only colleagues with sharing intimate details with me.
I think the thing about women and girls is that they notice everything, whereas men and boys are just a bit oblivious.
So if you come into work with red eyes because your boyfriend dumped you, women will spot somethings up whereas men just won't notice.
I don't want to be "a family" with my work colleagues, I want to fly under the radar.
Ime female bosses are fairer but they also work harder and can't be fobbed off, whereas male bosses are easier to manage!

I have also worked in 2 heavily male dominated professions and beleive me men can certainly be bitchy and dramatic!
