Toddler Converse

I don't have kids but I an thinking of buying some Converse as a present for a toddler who is turning two. The sizes are so confusing! It appears there's a set of sizes, then it goes up and starts going back on itself!? Please can anyone give me an idea of what size I should buy in Converse?

You need to know the child's shoe size. Age is irrelevant I'm afraid.

Also please consider not getting lace up ones because they are so frustrating to put on a toddler!

You need the size, toddler/young children shoes go up to size 13, then ‘adult’ sizes start from 1.

My DD is 2.8 and in a size 7 or euro 24.

There’s infant and junior sizes. If they’re two then you’ll probably need to look at infant sizing. In agreement with the poster above...you’ll need to know their shoe size and definitely get Velcro! I made that mistake and trying to get the hi-tops on a toddler is impossible!!

You need their feet measured and ideally the toddler should try them on. Converse kids' shoes tend to run quite small and narrow, in my experience - my son wanted some and never wore them because he found them so uncomfortable.

Converse are crap shoes for a toddler. They have no support for early age walkers, and worse if you get the incorrect size.

Thesearmsofmine · 13/08/2018 13:39

Converse are difficult with toddlers because they tend to be narrow and my toddlers feet are too chunky still.

I think you’d be better either just asking the parents for the size, or give a voucher for a store that sells them. Both my DC have always had a pair of converse since they were walking, not as their main shoes but I like them, and they’ve never complained about them. Although, I recently got a pair of superga for myself and find them much more comfortable than converse so will be buying them from now on.

Thanks for the replies everyone, great advice as I thought it was like clothes and a size would correspond to an age! Blush

I've found out the size from a family member, I'd still like to buy them but will keep in mind ones that are easy to put on!

If you buy some, maybe swap the laces for some of those elastic, self-tie ones, as toddlers are a nightmare with shoelaces.
