Have made a previous thread on this. Timeline as follows.

21 June - v bad stomach cramps and trots
22nd June - gp says IBS
23 June - ooh appointment, very bad cramps and flank pain. Sent home, told to book scan
24 June - a&e visit. Given IV fluids. Bloods clear apart from one slightly raised liver enzyme which has been raised for almost a year with no symptoms. Sent home.
25 June - visit gp, request abdo and pelvic scan
28 June - visit gp sobbing in agony, mum had to take me. Dip urine shows protein, gp thinks possible infection. Abx prescribed. Pain goes.

10 July pain returns - visit gp, urine clear. Sent home. Urine sent for culture.
12 July - culture clear
14 July - ooh appointment, agony again. Gp sends to surgical triage. They have no idea. Test urine. Clear. Send home with advice to come back if pain worsens.
15 th July - visit ST pain worsens. Spend entire time sobbing on my mother. Sent home with 3 day trimethoprim. Pain goes after a few days
20 July - visit gp. Chest infection. Abx given.

23 July - scan. Only pelvic is done, all clear. Gp hadn’t booked abdo so referred back to GP.
1 August - pain returns. Visit gp. Nothing we can do until scan
7 August - go again. Nothing we can do.
12 August - ooh. Test urine - clear. Not sure if problem. Wait until scan.

I am in pain constantly. It’s sometimes right flank, sometimes upper right abdo, sometimes lower. Sometimes lower abdo cramps feeling (but constant) and hurts when walking. Sometimes pain is in left side. Sometimes lower back.

Last night took 2x paracetamol 2 x buscopan and 1x naproxen nothing touched it. Only thing that slightly helps is hot water bottles.

I’m breastfeeding 9mo DS2 baby and don’t want to give that up. We’ve worked so hard to get here I don’t want to throw it away. DS1 is 4 and for the past 2 months we’ve barely left the house, he just sits cuddling me and trying to make me feel better. My heart breaks for him. Keeps telling me that it’s not my fault and I’ll get better soon. He’s he sweetest and he shouldn’t have to go through this. None of us should.

I can’t ever see this getting better nobody seems to be willing to do anything. I have an abdo scan booked for tomorrow but that’s another day in pain that i just cannot do anymore I’m exhausted mentally and physically. I feel so bloody hopeless and I just want my life back.

I didn't mean CT abdomen specifically for appendicitis- more to give better imaging to see what's going on if other things have been ruled out.
Grumbling appendix can go on for weeks btw. It's happened to two relatives of mine, but if you know for sure they've actually visualised the appendix on imaging and ruled it out then it obviously isn't. But just feeling the area doesn't always tell the full story. It's just a thought, not my medical opinion.
Hope you get to the bottom of things soon Thanks

ItWentInMyEye · 13/08/2018 10:45

@Ohb0llocks I had a transvaginal ultrasound which picked mine up. X

Ohb0llocks · 13/08/2018 10:47

I didn't have transvaginal but she did say she could see ovaries etc really clearly!

Have a look at SIBO and see if it sounds likely... I'm not sure if your symptoms fit completely but the fact they go after antibiotics would make me think SIBO.

As an aside, I had endometriosis and my periods were completely normal. I had to argue with my doctor in order for them to take me seriously because of that, but then a laparoscopy confirmed it and I had laser treatment (20 yrs ago now)

Sylv2017 · 13/08/2018 11:30

I had similar pain with kidney stones- and was also diagnosed with renal colic. Needed hospital treatment for pain but then passed the stones myself. The general discomfort lasted months and I had a few bouts over a few years. The pain was up there with labour and completely exhausting- flank pain and cramping.

Anyway might be worth speaking to GP and kidneys. Hope you feel better soon Thanks

Ohb0llocks · 13/08/2018 12:03

I spoke to wendy jones at the breastfeeding network re pain relief, and she has advised I can take Dihydrocodeine so I asked GP for it and he was more than willing. Just had one and the pain has pretty much disappeared, and I've been able to eat!

I know it's not fixing anything but in the interim at least it's helping.

He also said if nothing is found on the scan I'll be sent to a specialist for camera investigations etc.

Ohb0llocks · 13/08/2018 12:04

Probably worth adding, I've only had the runs twice, in the 2 months. So it's not a chronic poo issue I don't think?

OP posts:
MortyVicar · 13/08/2018 12:18

Be aware the dihydrocodeine can cause quite severe constipation, which won't help with the way you're feeling. Eat as much fibre as you can tolerate, and don't be afraid to take a mild laxative whenever you need to.

This information sheet tells you which ones are safe for breastfeeding mothers, and I recommend milk of magnesia out of all of them.

Ohb0llocks · 13/08/2018 12:38

Thanks @MortyVicar - I've taken one. Hopefully I won't need to take often. I'm just Saving then for if it's really bad.

I'm waiting to have my gall bladder removed and the pain when it flares up or a duct gets blocked is just hideous. The only thing that helps is iv morphine. The pain is just under my ribs in the centre, but also goes down both sides. A & e had no idea the first time I was taken in, although I think they were thinking in the wrong direction as I do have IBS, but once I saw the gastro consultant she knew what it was straight away. A simple ultra sound confirmed it. Cant wait to get the little sucker out!

Ohb0llocks · 13/08/2018 13:57

My ultrasound is tomorrow morning. Hopefully it will give some answers!

GeneHuntsMistress · 13/08/2018 15:07

Sounds so much like my endo pain. Incl the flank pain and the sporadic diarrhoea etc
My periods were textbook and not heavy and not painful
No scan will show endo, you need a laparoscopy
Now I’ve read your update it lends even more weight to endo - the only, painkiller that ever helped was codeine. I take cocodomal and even oromorph didn’t eradicate the pain.
Good luck and keep at it, don’t be fobbed off. Painkillers may stop pain but what is causing the pain in the first place?
Wishing you well x

Ohb0llocks · 13/08/2018 16:22

I will be don't worry! A friend of mine has endo and she also suggested it could be that. Especially with the moving pains. I'll do some reading on endo!

Hi OP you have described my gallstone pain to a T! I suffered for weeks before I was finally sent for an ultrasound of my gallbladder. The pain for me shot out my back and radiated across my shoulders and I also had abdomen pain. There was nothing that touched the pain for me except having it removed! If it is gallstones (they will be able to confirm with an ultrasound) a really bland low fat diet will help until you get it taken out! I lived on low fat ambrosia creamed rice Confused

Hopefully they can figure out what's causing your pain soon. If it is gallstone pain I feel for you, contractions for me were a walk in the park compared to gallstone pain!

cjt110 · 13/08/2018 16:44

The flank pain and nothing showing in urine and cultures sounds like a kidney infection to me. I had one - urine showed a small amount of antibodies and bloods showed nothing. Given antibiotics and it cleared up.

Felt like I had been kicked in the flank

Ohb0llocks · 13/08/2018 17:51

@cjt110 would it be that nothing would show after this long of pain? And would I also feel pain on the other side?

Painkiller wearing off now but going to try and manage tonight off just hot water bottles, both DS's are sleeping in my room tonight so we'll all snuggle up.

Here's a diagram. It moves around all the red bits!

I feel like I should include a disclaimer that the figure on this diagram is definitely not even slightly true to size.

Still in pain. Still none the wiser. Starting to feel a bit hopeless.

OP I feel your pain.....quite literally!!

I've been back and forth to GP/OOH/A&E (after the GP sent me there twice) and have had numerous scans and STILL nobody has any idea what it is. I have regular leukocytes/protein/blood/combination of those, on a regular basis but then the lab either says slight UTI or all clear when I'm clearly not ok. I've had quite a few courses of antibiotics, pelvic scan, abdo scan, kidney scan, vaginal scan, and probably some more than I can't remember and still nothing is showing up. I've been monitoring my own urine so I can see if there's any point sending it to the GP and have another appointment this week to rule out whatever else they think of.

I've nothing to suggest to you, just hand holding as I know how you're feeling and it's awful knowing something isn't right but they can't find it!

Ohb0llocks · 13/08/2018 21:32

Oh man @BarbraDear that sucks!

Yeah it's really affecting my quality of life. I know there's people in a lot worse pain than I am. But it's just relentless so you can't just put it to the back of your mind. My kids are so little (9mo and 4) and it's stopping me enjoying them and then I feel awful for saying that!

I had chronic appendicitis - rattled on with several agonising hospital admissions for several months. It sounds a lot like this pain....

Ohb0llocks · 14/08/2018 07:26

Today is the day. Hope we find something out!!
