Need to provide reward/thanks but what

Genuinely had my life saved today by instructor and RNLI.
Obvs RNLI is a charity I could fundraise.
But that doesn’t seem personal enough.
And what to do for course instructor who got me safety to wait for lifeboat?

Advice very welcome.

Fund raising would probably be the best idea, perhaps send a letter of sincere thanks and appreciation first and then make a genuine commitment to fundraise for the specific branch? What a horrifying experience, the RNLI volunteers are very special people.

Thanks yes letter definitely was wondering about fundraising do you think they may have a particular thing they need or just a bottomless need for money to launch/run/maintain the boat?

I think a more general donation is more useful without putting restrictions on what the money can be used for. I work for a charity myself and if someone gives an amount but specifies what it must be used for it can be difficult if needs change and the money might be more useful elsewhere.

But why not contact the branch direct and let them know that you would really like to fundraise and see what they say? Or would you be interested in helping in any other way?

Good plan. Thanks for the insight. X
