Is it possible to make a 'mix tape/CD' in this day & age?

I made a new friend at the weekend, we talked music & I wanted to do a mix CD for her. I don't think I can though. I've got rid of most of my CDs & most music is somewhere on iTunes on an external, hard drive, probably buried somewhere, but I mostly use Spotify now to listen to anything.

Is it possible to do a mix tape for a technically non competent person?

if you saved your CD music to a hard drive, then yes, you can transfer that music to a blank CD for her.

but with itunes or Spotify stuff, no, it's about having the platform.

You can share Spotify playlists that you make if your friend also has Spotify. I’ve not tried it but I’ve seen the share option on playlists I’ve made before.

I think a Spotify playlist is the 2018 equivalent.

If you have it on a hard drive, then you can in iTunes on a computer.

random note - I mostly did a bunch of saving of CDs for my mum

otherwise she sits there moaning that she's not heard any modern music. She has an ipad but is scared of using streaming platforms! She is nearly 80 though.

so every so often I have to sort a random selection of "what the middle aged folk are listening to". Of course she calls it "What the young folk are listening to". Grin

Love that lighthouse! She has an old car so CD was the way to go but see what you mean about the Spotify playlist-that's something anyway. I'll start on that, I know there are some songs that I want on it that I don't have on CD & maybe do a mix of both. Thanks all!

Actually is your friend my mum? Would she say "who is this Taylor person I keep hearing about?" Grin

For people who buy cds via Amazon, when you download the Amazon Music app (no need to pay extra) all your past purchased cds are available on the ‘your music’ bit. Don’t think that will help you though.

Maybe you could play it in your living room and record it onto Soundcloud and send a link, to fully recreate the sentiment of a poor quality cassette recording off the radio Grin.

Maybe I am your mum lighthouse! I asked my DS recently who is Taylor Swift, as someone at work was banging on about going (or maybe they'd already been) to a concert of hers. I'd never heard of her.

Eva, if you buy CDs from Amazon then you have the CD

So can just copy to hard drive, then put on blank CD.
