Hi all

While playing with dc earlier I lost my balance and came down like a tonne of bricks on my back and the back of my head hit the ground. It’s been throbbing ever since. I’ve tried an ice pack but it did bugger all. Any ideas on what might help?

Are you on your own with the children? I would get someone over if you are just in case.

Go to the hospital please. Or the doctor. Hitting your head is quite dangerous and you may not feel anything at the moment but little do you know you could be bleeding internally! Hmm

I had an ex friend who hit her head, did nothing about it and died in her sleep that night because of a concussion

@Bimgy85 sorry to hear about your friend. OP I'm not trying to alarm you but it might be worth a trip to the hospital, probably is nothing but better safe than sorry. Do you have a bump that you can feel on your skull? apparently it's a good sign as it means that the swelling is going on outside of your skull not inside where it can cause some damage. Hopefully it's just a minor bump and you won't be in too much pain for long.

As long as their is no dizziness or vomiting you will be ok

I spoke to 111 and a dr is going to ring me back within 6 hours. My head feels throbby but it’s bearable and ok.

This is the information we give out in A&E (easier than typing it all out Grin)

Thanks @wineandtiramisu. I feel tired and cold and head still throbs but no nausea or confusion or whatnot. I think sometimes just having a bad fall can be a shock to the body enough.
