DC had dropped a cup of water on the tiled floor and I didn’t see and went flying. Broke my glasses, smashed my iPhone, not that I’m bothered but just to give an idea of the force.

Landed on my side and have a massive mark on my face that’s going to bruise. I’m on clexane for previous miscarriage and I’m terrified I’ve hurt the twins.

I’m going to call my hospital but if this happened to anyone else and they were okay I’d like to hear it.

They did my observations and said I am okay. They did ask me a lot of questions and kept asking if I would be okay at home so I’m slightly worried they think DP has thumped me or otherwise pushed me! It was a genuine accident.

I fell over on ice feeding the birds at 35 weeks. I went to be monitored for a bit but everything was fine. Smile

QuestionableMouse · 12/08/2018 14:29

Just because you can move your wrist doesn't mean you don't have a break. I walked on a broken foot for nearly a week! Hope you been checked.

BlairWaldorfsHeadband · 12/08/2018 14:31

I know it could still be fractured, as I did that with one of my fingers which is subsequently bent. It feels a lot better than before.

I'm glad you're all right. I fell down six steps at 38 weeks with twins. Straight onto my belly. They are perfectly fine, two months old and snoozing here beside me.

Proseccoagain · 12/08/2018 20:40

Glad you are ok. I fell over twice in third pregnancy (previous two were miscarriages). Firstly slipped on ice and fell onto my back on the way to GP for a check-up at about 36 weeks. Secondly flat on my face straight onto very big tummy at about 38 weeks, DH took me straight to A & E. Everything ok both times. GP said he was more worried about my back than the baby. That baby turns 40 next year!

Theweasleytwins · 12/08/2018 20:51

My twin pregnancy
I was 33ish werks pregnant and fell down all the stairs and had carpet burn on my back
Went to maternity as baboes didnt kick more than 20 times a day so not sure if they were okay. Went and was monitered by a grumpy midwife
Twins are absolutely fine

Current pregnancy
I fell over puncturing my foot twice on a radiator at around 16 weeks? Kept bleeding so went to minor injuries

They did an ecg and sent me to maternity where i heard her heart for the first time💖

Thdy said she is very well protected

BlairWaldorfsHeadband · 12/08/2018 21:08

Thank you for the stories everyone Smile

I’m feeling anxious again because the babies aren’t moving right now, but trying to reassure myself.

I suffer from severe anxiety and so this will obviously make me upset, I am just sitting quietly and waiting for them to move.

LucyMD · 12/08/2018 21:10

Hope you feel some movement asap to reassure you but so glad the scan showed them both to be ok! They're well cushioned in there! And hope your injuries all heal asap, poor you! Bet you're also in a but of shock so hope you manage to relax as much as possible tonight. Take care Flowers

BlairWaldorfsHeadband · 12/08/2018 21:14

Thank you! I’m a stupid worrier so keep thinking “what if I have a delayed reaction and something happens” which is ridiculous.

Yeah I am a bit shellshocked. And my leg and shoulder really hurt where I fell! I am just glad the scab showed babies are okay

Scan

newnamechange1234 · 12/08/2018 21:24

Wonder if you tried a glass of ice cold water to see do that will get them moving, to reassure yourself? Or something sugary? Cake

BlairWaldorfsHeadband · 12/08/2018 21:32

I haven’t tried cold water, I have just eaten something as that usually makes them move but will try the water too!

LucyMD · 12/08/2018 21:32

Not stupid at all, I get very anxious and know I'd feel exactly the same. But take comfort from the scan and the fact that the hospital were happy enough to send you home. Agree with PP, have a sweet treat and do whatever you can to relax

Theweasleytwins · 12/08/2018 22:59

I find icecream works better than cold water😉

I am the same, unless baby is kicking at that precise moment i get quite anxious😅

StillMedusa · 13/08/2018 00:49

I was in a head on car crash when 30 weeks pregnant with DD1 (other driver was drunk, crossed the road and straight into us). I had to be cut out of the car.
DD1 went very quiet for a few hours so I was kept in for monitoring... she was fine, just a bit shocked like me!
She appeared 8 weeks later absolutely fine :)

CakeNinja · 13/08/2018 01:29

I too had a car accident when I was about 7 months pregnant with my youngest,
(Totally my own fault, brand new driver, no one else involved other).
Called my midwife when I got home who said if I felt okay and felt the baby move, I’d be fine!
Very glad you’re all okay op, it’s scary but you’ve been scanned and seems all is well.
Sorry about the bruise to the face though, that’s going to be sore along with your wrist Shock ouch!! Take it easy Flowers

octoberfarm · 13/08/2018 10:56

How are you feeling today, @BlairWaldorfsHeadband? Hope you felt them move in the end and that you're feeling a little less bruised Thanks

BlairWaldorfsHeadband · 13/08/2018 10:57

They did move a bit Smile they’re quiet again now and I always worry when they are quiet but feel a bit reassured.

OP posts:
octoberfarm · 13/08/2018 11:30

Glad you felt them! If the reduced movements continue I'd definitely call your midwife sooner rather than later, as they say to call with any changes. Hope they get kicking from here on out Smile

InDubiousBattle · 13/08/2018 11:36

I fell down the stairs when I was about 10 weeks pregnant whilst carrying my one year old. I banged my head and really hurt my toe, never knew if it was actually broken but I suspect it was-I couldn't get my shoes in for ages. Scared my self to death but both baby and toddler were absolutely fine. I was very scary when it actually happened though.

BlairWaldorfsHeadband · 13/08/2018 13:23

Thank you. I’m so sorry everyone has had such scary things happen! Pregnancy is stressful enough without falls and injury! Glad everyone has been okay Smile

I fell flat on my face when I was 5 months pregnant. I slipped on a marble floor and ended up flat out in the lift. My son is 35 now

ToothTrauma · 13/08/2018 13:30

My friend fell over several times while pregnant. She had to go to hospital each time because she has some blood thing I can’t remember what it is - anyway the point is she was fine :)

Summerof2018 · 13/08/2018 19:27

The potential problem isn’t the fall, it’s the fact that the OP is on blood thinning medication.
