Single mum. Taking children to Bournemouth. What to do?

I’ve booked a few nights in Bournemouth on the spur of the moment for me and the children (8 and 5).

I’ve booked a surf lesson for my eldest and then caving at the pier for both of them.

Any other suggestions?

TIA

Actually you probably could think about combining Studland with Corfe Castle if you wanted to - you can fill the best part of a day at Corfe Castle, but equally you could do it comfortably inside a couple of hours and then spend the afternoon at Studland on your way back.

The bus to Mudeford used to be a black and red Wiltshire and Dorset one to Lymington.

It went from outside the spa shop on Christchurch road.

Crab gear from G&T's if it's still there or shop at the end of Boscombe pier. But I remember using any old string with a ham rind tiedtoone end!

There's a shop on Mudeford quay which sells crabbing things (but probably more expensive than G&Ts etc). They also sell bait (which is gross, but the crabs like it).

If one of your other activities is rained off (looks like rain tomorrow), look up the Oasis Fun Centre in central Bournemouth - it's underground, and has 18 hole mini golf and bowling. Also some kind of soft play, I think. Also, if you're into board games, there's a board game cafe in Pokesdown (not too far from Boscombe) - Coffee and Dice. The Littledown Centre also have Wet and Wacky swimming (inflatables, and the slides are open) tomorrow from 12-2:30.
