Hi, I am new at this and have a 3 year old and looking at baking with her

I am asking any mums that are baking with their children if you could tell me if you purchased their own set of baking kit?

If so what did you buy ?

for them and

What age are your children?

Whats they enjoy baking / making the most ?

What stage do you allow them to mix or bake?

Do you set out the ingredients or do they?

Thanks in advance for you support

Hi AM168 I already bake with my little girl though it can get messy haha! I started when she was around 1.5 she is now 2.5 and much better. I bought a ridiculous oversized plastic bowl from Asda so that when she does ‘mix’ it is harder to spill out. She hasn’t yet quite mastered being able to put the mixture into the cases but does really try. So far we have only made cupcakes or banana muffins, we made cakes for Daddy and grandpa for Father’s Day too. The other thing I got her was a wee timer from Amazon it’s shaped like a gingerbread man and she loves it. She knows when it beeps things are ready or it’s time to ice.

I love baking with her and other than the mess it is lots of fun! Hope u both enjoy it as much as we do!

You can get little rolling pins that are easier for kids. And plastic cutters (metal ones are sharp). And really adorable aprons that I wish I could get in adult sizes.

Large plastic mixing bowl, as previously mentioned. Put it on a damp dishcloth to stop it slipping about.

We used the table part of the high chair as a "cook station" to encourage DC —and the mess— to stay in one place.

What to cook:
Fruit Buns
Jam tarts
Cheese straws
Pizza (scone base)
Vegetable or fruit salad
Stuffed potato skins

Non-edible:
Play dough
Salt dough for decorations

Ah yes as new name says, pizza! Always a favourite and eats more vegetables as she chooses herself!

thank you ladies, I brought a shaker batter for the littles one to restrict mess which has been handy.
the batter goes all in ... the lid is added and she shakes it which has helped
