It’s quiet on this board but a hopeful bump...

I've bought two recently, although
Am only half way through one. One is by Nicholas Crane, called The making of the British landscape, which is a historical account of the human and geographical influences that have shaped the British isles since the last ice age. It's fascinating if that's of interest.
The other if by professor Barry Cunliffe titled Steppe, desert, ocean (or something along those lines!!) which is quite similar to the above but on a continental scale. I wish I had more time to read!!

Jim Al-Khalis Quantum biology book is a really amazing read. I've also recently enjoyed a book about Bayes Theorum, one on Tides, and reread Enigma.

Ds is particularly enjoying listening to the audio book of a Brief History of Time with me in the car

I'm currently reading a book called other minds. Can't remember the name of the author will check when I'm home

It's about the divergent evolution of intelligence in vertebrates and cephalopods.

It's sort of half natural history half philosophy and very interesting (if a touch basic in places)

faceremovinghaircream · 29/05/2018 20:56

Billywig that sounds intriguing!

I have that Other Minds book waiting for me on my kindle (I travel a lot for work, and like to have a nice lot of books unread to diminish the horror of long haul flights), so will look forward to it after a recommendation
