Has anyone tried "thinx" period pants?

(And isn't there a section on mn for period chat?).
I came across this product on imgur where a group of women were sharing period woes, and a few linked to this product. Apologies, I don't know how to link. It looks like an American product that we can buy in the UK, but they're expensive and I wondered if anyone had experience of them and could share.

I’ve seen it too but have no idea how it works. I’d be interested to know

I overheard a woman at the station telling her friend they were very good for the start and end of her period and encouraging the friend to try them. The friend seemed quite interested.

On the thinx website they do a demonstration Lavender. Hm. I'm really interested in this!

Aren't they just cloth pads in pants form? I'm almost totally converted to cloth pads. I have some cheap big pads from eBay, some cheeky mama & honor your flow. All great & I Have ridiculously heavy periods for the first few days

I've tried them and also ones from the brand Modibodi. I like them. They are pretty comfortable, feel like normal underwear. I have a pretty light period and I wear them at the start and end, or if I think my period might start that day. If you have a more heavy period they would be great for a back up. These would have been a great product as a teenager, when leaks and coming on unexpectedly happened more often and was a source of anxiety and embarrassment for me Blush

I think they say you can use them on a normal period day as they hold 1-2 tampons worth. I tried that and they didn't leak but felt uncomfortably wet. Also they are a bit expensive so it would cost a lot if you wanted to have enough pairs to last you your whole period.

Oh and easy to wash. Just throw in washing machine.

Hope my review helps Smile

Ooh thanks both. I can't decide but the "uncomfortably wet" comment is a strong factor in the no vote area. I have tried cloth pads, liked them but not the fuss. I've pretty much talked myself out of it. I'm out of the house for 11.5 hours a day and it's dawned on me this would mean taking changes with me and carying the used ones home. I like the concept but I don't think it's practical for my lifestyle.

I have the half way house Diary Doll pants, I still need to use tampons or towels but they have saved me on a couple of occasions when there's been a flood. Bit of extra security.

I don't think Thinx are for me, I don't understand where it all goes.
