Silly incident at local superstore toilets

Ok so I was waiting where the cubicles start as they were all occupied. there was a lady at sinks in front of me with her children. we were the only people outside cubicles. I was in between the entrance and first cubicle. this other lady passes by me with her dd. as she reaches 4 cubicle, it becomes free and lady with dd walks in. so i walk up to her telling that i've been waiting. she told me she hadn't seen me. just as i was thinking she was going to vacate it as she hadn't seen me.. she shut the cubicle door on my face.

Yes we all have incidents in daily life where for eg people cut in front of us when driving etc. But I feel like I should've done more. I didn't of course as I just used the cubicle next door and went on my way. Also she was with her dd who was around 5... I tell myself that even if I had decided to confront her in some manner, I wouldn't have made a scene in front of her child.

At the time I was a little surprised by her behaviour as a) can she not look out for people queuing to use toilet b) had she really not seen me, she wasn't apologetic at all that she jumped the queue after I told her.

What would you have made out of the incident. Just curious.

She was rude, but I let people with children go first. She should have at least said sorry, but would you have gone in front of her?

Well had she asked to go before me cos of her child, I would've let her use toilet first. or even acknowledged that I was waiting... I would've just told her to go ahead as they were in.

i've got two young dc and don't expect people to give me priority. If it's absolutely critical that dc can't wait, I would ask people in front.

I think you did the right thing letting it go.

I have an awful tummy condition so as bad as it sounds i wouldn't always let children go first. So don't assume it would always be OK? It's happened before for me and I was quite poorly

I'd have shrugged my shoulders, filed it under rude and got on with my day
