TTC and possible new job

I'm looking for advice please.

I love my job and it pays well, the people are great and I really enjoy it. There is a lot of travel involved- 2-3 nights away a week.

I've been asked to apply for a job, and got an interview. It's got the same company, more money & lots more responsibilities. It's leading an initiative for two to three years but it is a permanent role. It looks like an amazing opportunity in a great area. There is occasional travel.

We're trying to conceive at the moment though so I feel that if I did get the new job and got pregnant in the first few months I would be letting them down.

I know pregnancy shouldn't impact on it but as this is for a specific initiative I feel I would be dishonest taking the role.

WWYD?

Well I've just got a BFP Grin - I haven't even told DH yet as he's at work!!

Any advice?

Congrats on your BFP firstly! I have recently been in same position as just passed my 3 month probation and prepping to tell my boss I’m pregnant!

Go with what you feels best, obviously maternity pay is down to weeks service so going for this new role would you be entitled by time your mat leave starts?

Thank you Cherry. Yes it's with the same company so I'd get mat leave.

I guess this mornings news has made me realise that I really do want to have this baby and fancy jobs take a backseat for a year or so.

I had a Miscarriage in June so it's a bit scary this time Confused

Congratulations. Apply for the job. You may or may not get it but if there would be less travel it could be helpful later on.

Yes I was thinking that too. Travelling regularly and arranging childcare could prove difficult- and I'd not want to do too much of it really.
