How do you get your kids to school when you're ill

The past week my DP has had food poisoning, then my DS came home from school with a tummy bug. They're both better now and DP is heading off to work in a minute, and about 4am I woke up vomiting my guts up. I feel rough as hell, and not sure how I'm going to get my DS to school. It's only a ten minute walk but I don't think I can even manage that atm. Plus my DS is 4 and still insists on being carried to school. I've got nobody else I can ask

In your case today I would keep your ds off and get your dp to arrange tomorrow. Hope you feel better soon.

I wouldn't send him in. I had to that before when youngest DC bought home a stomach bug. By the time he was better we'd all got it so there was no way to get him to school. He ended up with 2 extra days off until we were better.

School didn't say anything. I didn't care, I was too ill to care, it too much effort to phone 3 different schools about absences!

Unfortunately I didn't know anyone from where we live who went to the school. Not that I would have wanted to hand DC over to anyone while feeling so terrible!

Thanks again for the suggestions. I'd decided to keep DS at home today, but he came out of his room fully dressed in his uniform and was very keen to go. So I phoned the school and asked if somebody could collect him from the gates. They said yes, and shockingly DS walked all the way to school. (Made sure I was a little early to avoid spreading my bug . Also had a muzzie over my mouth most of the way due to coughing. Got SIL to pick him up and drop him home. I napped until he got home, feeling much better now and just curled up in a ball under blankets with DS bringing me drinks and cuddles
