She's very cute, although I'm not sure your lab thinks so. Why have you got her?Smile

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 20/09/2017 18:19

No idea, but she is adorable :)

LaurieFairyCake · 20/09/2017 18:37

It's not very micro. Didn't George Clooneybuy a pig called Max thinking it was a micro but it ended up 15 stone ?

Veterinari · 20/09/2017 18:39

How old is she. Where is she from?

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 20/09/2017 18:40

Adorable

I read that there is no such thing as a micro pig

For every actual tiny pig there are 100 ginormous ones

AlistairSim · 20/09/2017 18:41

I didn't think micropigs were a real thing.

MaximilianNero · 20/09/2017 18:42

How old is she?

Micro isn't a separate breed, it's just a marketing term. I don't know a lot about pig breeds, but with her black body and wee white legs/face stripe, she could possibly be from Berkshire stock? Does she have white on her tail, it's hard to tell? If you know both parents were very small, then likely the child will be small, but honestly, there's a lot of dishonesty out there - if you don't know the parents, I'd suggest her eventual size is pot luck. Although if you figure out the breed, research their average size.

NC4now · 20/09/2017 18:42

I wrote about micropigs recently. They really aren't that small. I can't remember the figures but think they go up to 20 odd stone Confused

ragged · 20/09/2017 18:46

There are dozens of true stories of people paying £££ for "micro" pigs that grown into stonking great beasts, big as a labrador or bigger. So it could easily be a cross breed, yes.

Llamacorn · 20/09/2017 18:46

Oh dear, where did you get her from?
This actually upsets me a bit, to see these animals mis sold. There's actually no such thing as 'teacup pigs' they're just baby pot bellied pigs, they weigh less that the huge domesticated farm pigs, but in most cases they are either underfed to stunt their growth, or they are sold as 'micro' when really they can grow to be some size.

Frouby · 20/09/2017 18:46

Is she at your house?

She is very cute. But you are risking prosecution if you haven't done your paperwork.

Off the top of my head you need a defra holding number, register with the council, a flock number, a movement register thing amd submit plans for where she will be at all times if you move her at all. She should also have an ear tag/id tag and some paperwork.

Cute. But if you haven't done all that you could find yourself if trouble. Apologies if you have though.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 20/09/2017 18:49

Oh, my gawd, she's adorable! The eyelashes! I want her.
Breed looks like Berkshire. Black body, white legs. Not micro though!

Llamacorn · 20/09/2017 18:49

And tbh seeing the parents size won't help to guess hers. Pigs can breed at weeks old so some parents can actually still be piglets and not fully grown themselves. A lot of sellers use this as a marketing ploy unfortunately.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 20/09/2017 18:52

What Froud said.

Littlelondoner · 20/09/2017 19:57

Theres no such thing as a micropig they are piglets of runts whove bred with runts.

She looks pretty young though. So think shes going to get alot bigger.

I love pigs. Grew up around pig farms.

picklemepopcorn · 20/09/2017 21:13

Oh dear. She's adorable. We looked into getting a pig but decided against it. Lots of defra regs.
