More of a WWYD. Me and DP are getting married in January and his parents have announced they will gift us some money as apparently all his older siblings got this gift when they got married. We are doing it very cheaply with 2 witnesses so the money won't be needed for the wedding.

I haven't been on holiday for ages and would love to go to Norway. But now I'm feeling bad as when we are looking to go would be when DSs are 3 and 1. While we would do things I think they'd enjoy, I feel bad spending money on a holiday that they won't remember aside from photos. I'm wondering if we should keep the money for when they can be more involved in a trip?

Another part of me thinks life is for living, I've no idea what's down the road and it's silly to wait a few years. They'll enjoy being with both of us uninterrupted for a couple of weeks etc even if they can't appreciate the destination.

I guess because we can't afford a yearly holiday I'm overthinking it. WWYD?

Kids don't appreciate any holidays at that age they just enjoy being with mum and dad. Go ahead and plan the trip and just allow for some downtime at the park beach etc rather than making it completely full on.

Even if they don't remember it will still be a valuable experience for them. Every new experience is important for the developing mind and this will certainly stretch that.

I have very early memories from about 18 months old and they are all from holidays, btw.
