Flight seats

Hello, looking for advice really. We booked a last minute holiday and I checked in on line as soon as I booked. I paid (£18) so we could have one adult sat with one child. On the return flight there were no seats available that were next to each other so checked in without paying anything. So I've ended up with two seats together but two are separate. On line chat have said it's £13.99 to change the seats.i don't know how they suddenly have seats available next to each other. Will they move one of us or do I need to ring and pay?

Bit confused by your noisy

All I will say is that they will never allow a child to travel separately

I posted a few months about this and the bullish"t that some posters spit.

Got back from holiday two weeks ago. Single mother travelling Trent 4 and 7 year old. I didn't pay for anything and was assigned seats all together.

Iif travelling two adults and two children, the party may well be split up. But the child alone? Never.

I rang monarch 5 times and they confirmed every time.

Turns out the aviation authority have a guideline about it as if the child is seated alone, in the event of evacuation, the parent may cause delays by trying to get to her or her child

Sorry what caused confusion?
Thanks for replying I confess this is my first post. So I should just leave it as it is. I'm annoyed I have to pay more money after the amount I've already paid on flights. The two separate seats are directly in front of each other and the eldest is six so if we had to stay in those seats I'm sure he'd cope.

So, to be clear.
It's two adults and two children?

How old are the children?

LIZS · 18/08/2017 17:22

I think one in front of the other counts as together. It should be fine.

Macleods · 18/08/2017 17:22

Yes two adults, 6 yr old and 3yr old.

Yes I agree, they will be regarded as "together".

I'd leave it. All sounds good

Thank you, he doesn't remember flying before but he's a brave 6yr old
