Would I be able to move back to Guernsey?

I was born in Guernsey and moved away to England when I was 15. When I was 19 I moved back for a year. Now I'm 28, have 2 children aged 3 and 8 months and also a fiancé. If I wanted to move back could I? Would I still be classed as a resident? I want my children to grow up experiencing the kind of childhood I had, where it's safer. Would they be allowed? I don't know how it all works with them all being born in the u.k

I'm not sure about Guernsey but I think in your situation her in jersey if you left before you finished education you'd not be classed as a resident.

I also think that your kids would have to be here (jersey) 10 years before they were considered resident. As I said that's assuming that the rules are the same as in jersey

When I moved back at 19, I had no problem getting my tax code and getting a job. I don't know if that means anything?

There have been some recent changes but the best thing to do is to call the housing department and talk it through. Or you can fill in this form: www.gov.gg/article/135161/Contact-Us---Housing

Sounds like you'll be fine. 2 of my 5 DC have moved back after a number of years away. As your children were born off island they'll have to do a certain number of years to get local status and they also look at where parents and grandparents were born.
