old friend - what to do?

An old friend has got in touch purely to get me involved in this 'forever living' scam/cult/whatever...What do I say? She's made conversation with me over the last few days and has now come out with: I'd love a conversation with you - I've got something I'd like to run past you... I've been through her profile (she has cute kids and I've known her for years, albeit we haven't spoken since school. ) and I can see that she's really involved with this scheme - so much so it's like she's born again or something. How can I let her down without upsetting her too much? Any ideas?

I would block her Blush

She is only interested in what you can do for her , no loss imo

Bunbaker · 15/10/2015 21:09

Just say that you would love to have a good catch up with her but you aren't interested in getting involved in Forever Living, and make it perfectly clear that the subject is closed and not to be discussed again.

celtictoast · 17/10/2015 22:55

What Bunbaker said.

gamerchick · 17/10/2015 22:56

Yup. ^^ pre emptive strike.

Tiggeryoubastard · 17/10/2015 22:59

Tell her to fuck off. She's contacted to flog her shite. If she wanted to be in touch she would have previously. She's also been so bloody unsubtle that I'd suspect she thinks you're thick. So...to repeat - fuck off, fuck right off, and take you're dodgy pyramid shite with you, you insulting twat.
Or you could take the hard line.

stopfaffing · 17/10/2015 23:12

Just say no, OP. She's using you.

lazycoo · 18/10/2015 04:31

Lol tigger. If you meet, she will likely see you as not a 'no' but a 'not right now' and will keep at you. They're trained not to give up so be prepared for that. Simplest not to respond.

ForeverLivingMyArse · 18/10/2015 10:22

It's quite insulting isn't it? I've had this a couple of times recently and it's not nice to think that you're only worth contacting when they have shit to sell.

Milkand2sugarsplease · 20/10/2015 16:16

I've had the exact same thing lately. Used to work with a woman - never socialised with her or spoke out of work. I left the job 3 years ago and all of a sudden I get a FB message tapping me up for forever bloody living shit!!
She got a very quick 'I'm happy with what I'm doing and don't have time for anything else' reply.

I joined a triathlon club a few years ago. One of the women was really friendly and invited me to a small gathering she was having. I thought she was really lovely to be so welcoming to someone she hardly knew. Then I found out why! She just wanted to sell me crap. I felt quite pissed off to be honest.
