Children going in the garden in the morning

We've just got a trampoline so the DCs were chomping at the bit to go on it this morning by 8am but I made them wait. Our immediate neighbours are predominantly elderly or have very young children.
What do you think is a reasonable hour to let them start bouncing?
TIA

I think the law says 8 on Saturday 9 on sunday. I'd say 8:30-9 is fine.

Sirzy · 18/04/2015 09:36

9am at a weekend, 8 during the week imo.

usualsuspect333 · 18/04/2015 09:39

8 o clock is fine

9am on Saturday. 10am on a Sunday.

Theses are the times I would remain quiet until. For example, no hoovering, drilling, mowing etc.

Thanks guys. That fits with my thinking too.

It depends on screechiness levels IMO. Grin If they are reasonably quiet about it 8am is fine.

Shesparkles · 18/04/2015 13:37

The law doesn't specify times. It's about "causing nuisance"
I had non squealing kids (they were taught very young!) so I never had an issue with them going out to play.
That didn't stop one neighbour objecting to them laughing in the garden in the afternoon though-thank God the moany trout moved

annoyedofnorwich · 18/04/2015 13:53

9 on a Saturday and 10 on a Sunday sounds reasonable!

Bowlersarm · 18/04/2015 13:56

I'd say 8.00 on a weekday, 9.00 on a Saturday and Sunday.

Pointlessfan · 18/04/2015 13:57

I wish our neighbours were as considerate - 6am on a Saturday morning was the record for their kids screeching in the garden! When DD is old enough to do that they will be teenagers who will want to sleep in - can't wait Wink
9am sounds very reasonable.

Depends on size of space between you and neighbours. If it is near your house, away from all neighbours and the kids don't squeal, then earlier, If you have put it at the far end of the garden so you have peace and quiet, but the neighbours get kids bouncing up and down next to the fence all day, then later.. Grin

Thanks for the extra replies. We are the last house before a side road and the trampoline is the side of the garden away from our immediate neighbour. The houses in the side road don't start until a bit further down so it's really not on top of anybody.
My two DCs weren't squealing this morning but they were chatting and laughing. it was lovely to hear as there isn't much they enjoy doing together being very different ages and different sex.
Soon I'll be asking what time do we think they should stop bouncing won't I with the lighter evenings coming? Grin

We let ours out at about 8.30-9.00. I always say they have to be dressed and clean teeth etc and that takes them forever so normally nearer to 10 they go out.

mckenzie · 19/04/2015 16:26

That's funny Scorpio
