Passport and bank cards

My passport is in my married name (we're separated) and my bank cards are in my maiden name so when I pay and arrive at a hotel they won't match. If I change my passport to my mAiden name so things can match will there then be problems travelling with my children who will have a different surname? Is there a simple way around this? Thanks.

It's much easier to have one name on all documents.

If you want to use your maiden name, then change everything to that.

Yes, they check (sometimes) if your name doesn't match that of DC. How old are they? I've found that it's not problematic once DC are old enough to answer confidently for themselves, but I've seen advice here that you might need a letter from anyine else with PR, and/or birth certificates to demonstrate the relationship.

Or could you get a credit card reissued in time?

Thanks. I'm thinking ahead so I can change whatever needs to be changed in time for when we go away. Do you mean change my bank card to my married name so everything matches that way?

Yes, you could do it that way.

But travelling with DC with non-matching surnames is possible. And if you want to be known by your maiden name, you might as well get on with it and do it now.

Changing the name on your credit card (or getting a new one) was more of a stop gap idea.

But, thinking about it, has anyone ever managed to get a credit card issued with a second card-holder, but instead of it being eg your spouse it's actually you in your other name?
