Not sure of this is the right place for this but am desperate for some advice please! I am attending a course at Warwick uni and am still breastfeeding my youngest who won't take a bottle. My husband is therefore coming up with our two year old and five month old and will be amusing them mon- wed 0900-5pm whilst I am in lectures. The idea is he bring baby to me for feeding. I'm stressing as we are staying with friends in Birmingham so during he day he will just need to stay close ish in case baby needs me. Does anyone have any ideas on what they can do whilst I am in lectures? If the weather is nice they can play on campus by the pond but any other ideas for local playgroups or singing/ library etc ? Thanks!

the problem is that warwick university isn't really near to anywhere, it's kind of in the middle of nowhere. In the middle of Coventry there are the transport museum and the Herbert museum which are both free and good. I can't think of much in the immediate bit of Coventry by the uni but someone else might. Earlsdon is nice, but I don't know it that well.

There is jam jam boomerang soft play but be careful as it's on a business park and at the wrong time he could get stuck getting off. It's not the right side of Coventry but tbh it isnt a very big place really.

On the other side Kenilworth has a children's centre with quite a bit on. It also has a nice park and a Castle (although a ruin so not much use in the rain)

Warwick has a little museum with bees. There is also a smaller soft play (cheeky chimps) and a large play Farm (Hatton) that are all within 15 minutes.

But it never rains round here anyway Wink

Tile Hill library is near and has stay and play on a Tuesday www.coventry.gov.uk/directory_record/90/tile_hill_community_library
and the Tile Hill children's centre has a sensory room and play stuff www.coventry.gov.uk/directory_record/42/tile_hill_childrens_centre

Or Earlsdon library is also near www.coventry.gov.uk/directory_record/84/earlsdon_community_library

There is a nice little park on Banner Lane not too far. And the Memorial Park is near to the University www.coventry.gov.uk/info/2000674/war_memorial_park

There's a nice playgroup on a Monday 10-11.30am by Hearsall Common www.facebook.com/allsoulstoddlerscov?fref=ts

and another on a Tuesday afternoon very close at Westwood Church www.westwoodchurch.co.uk/parent-and-toddlers

but not sure if you can drop in to these?

There's a great cycle path from the University campus, near the Cryfield Centre, that links all the way to Kenilworth and is a lovely traffic free walk.

The campus nursery did do stay and play sessions at one point so might be worth a ring? www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/childrensservices/nursery/

Oh and also Brandon Marsh www.warwickshirewildlifetrust.org.uk/reserves/brandon-marsh-sssi-nature-reserve-and-visitor-centre

and Ryton Pools countryparks.warwickshire.gov.uk/country-parks/ryton-pools-country-park/ are not too far away and kid friendly cafes.

Plus coffee tots in Cov centre though I've not been www.coffeetotscoventry.co.uk/Welcome.html

and there's always the Ikea Cafe - again not too far from campus.

Coffee Tots is quite nice, it's been a while since I visited but they generally have a good activity.
The libraries all have various tots groups it might be worth calling them. Also there are lots of Rainbows children's centres around Coventry, most of their tits groups are on a drop in basis. They would probably be worth contacting.
